Jax where they won both handily. [/ QUOTE ] Really? It took a bs "fumble" call for NE to clinch the win with a minute left. The Jags were driving and NE was on it's heels. I doubt that is winning handily. But, just a couple weeks earlier the Jags beat the Colts 44-17 with 375 rushing yards at Jacksonville. Theres a comparison for you. |

Colts had the worse Rush D ever, that week against Jacksonville obviously didn't help at all. I don't think their D is all powerful as they've seemed the last 2 weeks but I think they are improved but I wouldn't put them on the same page as the Pats D by any means. I think the Colts Pass D is very solid, I think their run D is definitely improved but 2 games as others have said isn't going to make up for 16 games of ineptitude that happened in the regular season. Bob Sanders coming back, Rob Morris being put in also doesn't hurt. What many forget the difference between the D last season which was very good, even above average to the D this year is a couple of personnel changes. Doss missed the whole season, Sanders missed all but 4 games, Simon was lost for the season, they lost David Thorton who was very solid the year before. They also had a corner playing for Sanders who was undersized on top of their other safety being a Rookie (Bethea).
Honestly, I wouldn't bet against the Pats. They are good and they have definitely had their way with luck the last 6 or so years. I'm rooting for Peyton to win 1, but I wouldn't be suprised at ALL if the Pats came in and won. Hopefully if they do win or if the Colts win it'll be a good game. |

Also, is the Colts defense really improved? Or is the change due to the fact they played a team with a terrible offensive gameplan (KC) and a team with a terrible offense (BAL). I mean, put 11 of me out there and I am pretty sure I could limit Baltimore's offense to 14 points.

They beat Tennessee handily on the road in week 17. I'm pretty sure that's the game your thinking of.

Kyro,
I wouldn't say that KC came in with a terrible offensive gameplan, I'd rather say Indy came in with a great defensive gameplan(even though it was obvious). KC was just doing what every other team wanted to do against Indy, the Colts just didn't let them. The Baltimore game, eh, it was on the road against a team that had a week off. And like I said earlier, I don't think the defense has "improved" other than they are doing what they are supposed to. Filling gaps and tackling. When you do those two things you will look much improved. It had nothing to do with scheme, just players making plays. |

I think they've had to play NE 3 times in a row in Foxboro during the regular season. In 2003 they played in the RCA Dome, Pats win 38-34. In 2004 they played @ NE 24-27 Loss. In 2005 they played @ NE 40-21 Win. In 2006 they played @ NE 27-20 Win. Someone posted why this happened, I can't remember the right reasoning. [/ QUOTE ] It is some stupid scheduling rule. IF the Pats and Colts each win their division for the the next three years, all those games will be in Indy. |
