Cash is on the table, as the chip stacks matched the buy in dollar for dollar, so essentially, they are playing a winner take all cash game, with escalating blinds. The cash on the table makes for better TV.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's my understanding that there were no 5k tournament chips available and the players brought cash to the event. Figured the players might as well use it (at par value).

It sure looks like Shana is polishing Phil's knob in the interviews, nodding at everything he says. Shana should give him a STFU and play.

Im just in shock that Gus was singing one of my favorite Disneyland After Dark (known as D.A.D. here in the states) songs. So random!

I've got to say, I'm really liking the show. Lots of hands, lots of table talk.

I agree a couple of the players (OK, Phil and Shawn) seem to be going over the top trying to be "personalities" in their own right. The others just seem to be having a good time.

I love Z's dry sense of humor. Sitting at a table and listening to him all night would have to be a pleasure.

Dead wrong like Biggie Smalls.

Also, I completely agree with Phil's anger that people wouldn't be quiet when he had a big decision. Phil can be an ass, but he's entitled to ask for a minute to think.

I think Shawn Sheikhan should go back to killing old women in car accidents. He seems to be really good at that.

since i am an avid sports bettor, i have many televisions and all of them have closed captioning set to "on" bc it is a great way to gather information and enjoy many games at once. It also helps hear what u missed or may have thought u had heard. Well, I am too lazy to turn it off so i had to fight through the fact that the captioning was coming in over the hole cards but someone else out there was watching, and on show no. three the captioning was off to the side of the hole cards. nice job NBC.

I don't think Biggie was wrong about that much stuff. Ok, ok, mo money actually leads to fewer problems. But other than that, he was right on.

The odds of Phil Helmuth refusing to appear in future televised one-table poker tournaments are so low as to be infintisimal. I liked how Gus commented on Phil's threat not to appear any more and then rolled his eyes. Gus is cool.
