When I was on Wheel of Fortune, I met Pat Sajak and Vanna White. Both were great.
After I busted out in the bonus round, the filmed the three of us talking. So this conversation ensued amidst the B.S.ing... ME: So, uh, Vanna, do you play Fantasy Football? (I'm a Fantasy Football analyst) VANNA: Uh, no. PAT: Football is the farthest thing from Vanna's fantasies. ALL: Laughs. -end- Also met or have stories about a ton of NFL players, especially those that went to Miami for college. I also knew a girl who banged Michael Jordan a few times. |

I've had Thanksgiving dinner with Billy Corgan. There's not a whole lot to tell. His manager lives across the street from my aunt's sister (aunt by marriage) in Chicago. He's become friends with my aunt's family, then friends with my aunt - who gave him a 3-day lomi lomi message treatment before he went on tour with Zwan.
For some reason he wanted to come to our family's Thanksgiving in Kansas City. he was pretty quiet and it was really weird having him there. I got the feeling he'd rather be somewhere else, or a fly on the wall. Hard when you're 6'5 and bald. When we took the big picture with everyone - we acted like this was our traditional Thanksgiving family pic - which we never actually do. Within a few hours I had emailed copies to all of my friends. Pretty weird experience. ![]() I've also partied all night with Dabney Coleman, and seen Heather Graham and Drew Barrymore make out for like a minute at a club - while Leonardo DiCaprio stood next to them looking annoyed. A bunch more minor celebs. I used to hang out in Hollywood a lot. No way to avoid them. Oh yeah when I was working in Santa Monica this spring - within the same week I bumped into had Martin Sheen and Michael Keaton at my Starbucks. Freaked me out. They both look old. And I saw Ceasar Milan - the Dog Whisperer in Redondo Beach the other day. This really excited me as he's one of my heroes. |

In 1992, I was a just graduated journalism major writing obits and police blotter, but thanks to my getting picked for this political reporting class, I got to cover our states delegates for the 92 Demo. convention in NYC.
Got my first floor pass the first day and was wandering around on the madison Sq. Garden floor, staring stupidly at everything and was kinda walking backwards. Unknown to me Robert Downey Jr. was filming some documentary and was doing a walking shot, kinda walking backwards (or sideways) himself. We collided, HARD! I apologized profusely, then realized who it was. I said "I know this is lame, but I **** loved "less than Zero". He was really nice, talked to me about the convention, then was intrigued with my story of a young college student covering the convention, and interviewed me on camera, but I don't believe the movie was ever released. Anyway, that's my brush with fame. |

I met Muhammed Ali about 11 years ago. My bakery did a birthday cake for him in Louisville and we got to go to the party to cut the cake.
