BK, I can say just from the brief time we've played together that you are running bad.

the difference being davidross was a) playing full ring b) sucked, and continued to suck during his downswing. It was pointed out several million times exact hands where he clearly was playing poorly (limping ATo UTG 10 handed, coldcalling UTG raises with QJo, etc), and he refused to listen and continued to complain about his "downswing".

The other ironic twist I thought of, after perusing the high stakes forum... you are playing 5/10 and 10/20... and Pokerbob is going to play 100/200... just seems odd.

[/ QUOTE ]

The other ironic twist is it's a joke.

You should think about getting a job.

Or take your gambling up a notch and start a company. I've done that a few times now, and it's worked out quite well, both from a personal and a financial perspective.

The way I see it, there are basically three ways to get rich.
1) Lotto-esque luck
2) Get a job with a high hourly rate and grind it out
3) Build a machine that makes money while you sleep.

I prefer the last choice. I think a lot of poker players would.

[/ QUOTE ]

My experiences working with startups so far have me convinced that (3) is highly dependent on (1).

Nah, I heard from justin A that mike l thought not that great of me until he played with me a bunch like 3 weeks ago at commerce.

[/ QUOTE ]

Mike thinks everyone sucks so you gotta remember that. He was in love with you after that Commerce session though, he randomly told me like a week ago how sick it was when you checkraised that guy on the river with QQ (board was like KJ47K) and got paid off

That largely depends on how much money you want the machine to print.

The dot-commie "lets take over the world by first spending millions" startup is definitely lotto-esque. The more traditional "lets fill this small niche" startup is a lot more stable, and is fairly repeatable.

On the subject of people saying you are playing good, I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

It doesn't take much to swing 1.5bb/100h into -0.5bb/100h, and a lot of the mistakes won't be readily apparent to observers. (Or the observers might see it, but unconsciously come up with a situation-dependant explanation for the play that doesn't quite fit.)

At this point, if you're actually playing winning poker you're about six sigma from running normal. It seems far more likely that you've developed some subtle leaks.

barring a complete meltdown like tilting your ass off for thousands and thousands and thousands of hands, this is a ridiculous thing to say. guy has supplied a huuuuge sample size with a stellar winrate.
