Rofl. Well my team is 8-1, his team is 4-5. So, he's made some bad decisions, including the week versus me when he played Bulger over McNabb vs Dallas. His team still has a lot of talent.
My team has been built through the draft and FA. The guys I drafted are Peyton (1), Cadillac (2), Gates (4), R. Williams (5), J. Walker (6), Chicago D (7), T. Bell (8), Stallworth (13), Gore (15, it was early before the Barlow Trade). I also drafted Dayne who was quickly waived, and I drafted Feely who I quickly dropped for Gould in the first week. His team was built through the draft, FA and 3 trades. He drafted Portis (1), Jackson (2), McNabb (3). He swindled a first year player to give him Holt after week 1 for McNair, M. Jones, and M. Bell. Which I should have vetoed. He also traded Jennings and Ward for McGahee. And C. Taylor for R. Moss. The last 2 trades haven't worked out as well for him. He's #4 in points but #6. There are also like 4 other good teams in my league including a team with LT, Eli, Balt D, another team with Vick, Westbrook and Steve Smith, and another one with Brady, Parker, and A. Johnson. There are also some awful teams. Some of the guys in our league are still idiots. Others have had bad luck. |

I've posted about this team before. It's a 14-team Yahoo! league, 1 pt for 10 rec/rush yards. Start 2 RB, 3 WR, and 1 TE.
Someone in my league is looking for an RB, and is offering Marques Colston. It's a Yahoo! league, so Colston has TE eligibility. Earlier, I traded this guy Tatum Bell for Droughns, Reggie Brown, and Reggie Williams, and then I turned around and flipped Williams for Travis Henry. Here's my current roster: RB (start 2): Tomlinson, K. Jones, Droughns, Henry, Jones-Drew WR (3): A. Johnson, Boldin, Re. Brown, Mason, Curtis, Lloyd (yeah, I know, but there are add/drop fees in this leauge and I haven't needed Lloyd's roster spot yet). TE (1): Crumpler I am going to try to add Anthony Thomas for Lloyd (we take turns with transactions and I am third-to-last this week, but there aren't a ton of transactions done each week), which may give me additional ammo to try and nab Colston. Here's the real issue. As I mentioned, there is a fee for transactions in this league. At the end of the year, the team with the most overall points gets all the money in that pool. I am currently leading the league in scoring by 40 points. The guy who has Colston is second overall in scoring, and the next closest guy is 86 points behind him. So with five weeks left in the season, it's looking very much like a two horse race. Villain's relevant roster: RB: L. Johnson, T. Bell, Jacobs, D. Williams WR: Colston, Houshmandzadeh, Welker, Matt Jones, Caldwell TE: Heap My question is: would it be wise for me to offer Droughns or Henry for Colston? I think K. Jones is obviously too much (and Henry probably too little, though he might take it), but Colston would be a great upgrade to my third WR spot. Thanks very much in advance. EDIT: Just to clarify some, I think the trickiest part of this is not improving his team to the point where he threatens my overall points lead. I think losing Colston will be too much for him to overcome with his other WR, but I'm not certain. -McGee |

IF I was him I'd laugh in your face. Colston is golden right now. Brees and the Saints don't look like they will stop passing. Their schedule isn't horrible. Reuben has a horrible schedule and Henry is very inconsistant although I think he's better than Reuben.
Colston is too good to be gotten that easily. D. Williams is returning for him this week, no? He's not great but I guess it's something. I think it's be better to maybe package something like 2 players for his 1. Colston is #2 in most leagues. Something like Henry and Curtis for Colston. Even then I'm not sure if he'll bite. The one issue with Colston is will he handle the 16 game schedule. Will he start fading as the weeks go bye. Noone knows that yet. |

wow capone i have a very diff. opinion.
i guess i dont really care about whether the trade is fair from a pure value perspective. I just htink this trade would be foolish for aces because as of right now that guy is [censored] at RB and aces already has 3 sick receivers, i really dont think colstons expectation for the rest of the yr can be much diff from that of jonson, boldin or brown. serioulsy aces, assuming you have a halfway decent QB, your team is insanely good for a 14 team league. i woudlnt change a thing if i was you. |

HE is screwed at RB due to the Bell injury. I agree with that. I just don't think the villian would give up a top 5 WR right now for a 15-20 back. Jacobs does score although it will be tough this week and Tatum will be back eventually. I know it's not known if he will eventually start again but if you watched how good Mike Bell was last week, you'd realize Tatum is the better player but was hurt in the Colts game. Tatum already ran well against a good Baltimore D and NE D who are comparable to Pittsburgh's D.

serioulsy aces, assuming you have a halfway decent QB, [/ QUOTE ] Brees. capone0 and NLSoldier, thanks for both of your opinions. I wish I was better at analyzing trades so I could contribute more to this thread. capone0, you're right of course, but I'm not terribly concerned with whether or not he thinks it's fair. If he doesn't like it, it's no skin off my teeth -- my team is pretty good as it is. I'm only going to make a deal with someone if it's clearly in my favor. NLsoldier hit upon what I'm most concerned about: improving his team more than improving mine. Here's another consideration, though. If chances are good that he does pull a deal off, I'd rather that I be the one he makes it with, for two reasons: 1)it improves my team, and 2)I control the degree to which he improves his. -McGee |

Hey - just completed a trade but interested in thoughts - other person in trade is a 2p2er and Sporting Events semi-regular so I didn't want to post about it beforehand:
I traded: Laurence Maroney, NYG Defense, Drew Bennett for Keyshawn Johnson, Bills Defense, Travis Henry I have D. Foster and S. Jackson as running backs - and my starters at WR last week were Joe Horn, Drew Bennett, and Travis Taylor. Anyway you guys should know or figure out the rationale for the rest - interested in thoughts. |

Triumph,
Assuming this is not a keeper league. If it is this was terrible for you . Total wash with the defense considering the Giants injuries now. Travis Henry and Maroney are pretty much equal, unless you get points for return yards in which case you took a downgrade there. I like Maroney more though cause he will put up better receiving yards. Keyshawn isn't much of an upgrade over Bennett at receiver when Bennett is healthy. Overall this might be a slight edge to you, but this is not going to be a difference maker for either team. |

whitebread -
Considering - the Bills schedule vs. the Giants down the stretch, I think I get back a better D than I give up - especially considering all the Giants' injuries. They never intercept anyone, and their D points mostly came from sacks and monster shutdowns. Considering - the Panthers schedule down the stretch vs. the fact that Bennett has VY throwing to him, I think Keyshawn will outscore Bennett, or at least be more consistent. Either Bennett scores a TD or does nothing - I feel like Keyshawn will at least get 40-60 yards even if he doesn't get into the end zone. |
