Thanks. I'd be the happiest man in the world if we could deal Nabby and/or Ekman for a nice D-man. That's our biggest flaw and we haven't addressed it. Although, it can only get better each season as Carle, Ehroff, and Gorges gain experience.

Please, Nabby for a D-man! Who still needs a goalie? Is Florida happy with Auld?

Unfortunately most eveyrone in the league knows Ekman is garbage and they're not going to pay a high price for Nabokov because they know the Sharks have to deal him.

San Jose should look into dealing Setoguchi or other prospects at the deadline in order to obtain a solid #2 or #3 defender. One of their young defenders could go, too - but Wilson has to pull the trigger this year. I think Mark Bell is UFA next season and Marleau might be too.

I think Marleau has 3 more years and hopefully he will stay a franchise player. Bell is a UFA next season, and if he puts up some career numbers playing off of Thornton then he might not be back. Ugh..

Bell would mostlikely play on the Thorton line and should get 30+ goals this year.

Tom Poti signed a one year $2.75 mil deal with the Islanders. Poti in the past has had the label as a poor defensive player but this last season he lead the Rangers in blocked shots also he was a plus +16.

anyone know what the deal with Brian Leetch, Boston boughtout his contract, so now he is free agent? or did he retire?

Boston didn't buy out Brian Leetch, but he is a UFA. His deal with Boston was only one year. He may retire - he's about finished.

Wow, I didn't see Tom Poti's deal was for 2.75 million. He must be laughing all the way to the bank - to pay that stiff 2.75 million to watch him make brutal turnovers night after night for the hope that he becomes an offensive defenseman - he is horrible. Glad to see he hasn't left the Atlantic - he's the Devils' best defenseman most nights he played for the Rangers.

Devils sign Colin White to a 6 year, 18 million extension and sign former Stanley Cup hero and present stiff Mike Rupp.

Ummm.... wtf? Is there something I missed about this guy that would make a team want him for 6 years at 3M per? I mean, he'll be 34 at the end of his contract.

Colin White is on of the most under-rated defenseman in the NHL. Also he will be 34 at the end of his contract but many defense in the NHL have proven to be very effective in their mid to late 30s. Some, like Chelios, into the 40s

Considering this crazy market, White gets 3.5 to 4 on the open market easily next off-season. But he would only get 3 or 4 years - Lou has sacrificed dollars for years making all his long-term contracts this summer.

Colin White is a solid #2 defenseman who can match up with the Jagrs and Sundins of the league. He's not Scott Stevens but he's certainly worth $3M a year. As with the Elias and Langenbrunner deals, it's a year too long, but his last year comes in a different year than Langenbrunner or Elias.

I had never heard anything about White. I know literally nothing about him, except his salary. With the D the Devils have had over the years, I guess that's not shocking.
