[ QUOTE ]
Silver, I dont feel I contradicted myself. He deserves to be publicly condemned for what he did, that doesn't mean we have to be happy about the condemning. Thats all I'm saying. [/ QUOTE ] I respect your right to your opinion, Mike. Mine is that he deserves to be made a mockery of. He made his bed. But again - I agree with you that it is utterly tragic how he can't see the gravity of what he has done. It will come back to bite him in the ass someday, even more than the momentary loss of revenue from his online endeavors. Btw: fix your avatar, it says "i still have have a blog". [ QUOTE ]
You think what ZJ did is wrong in bold, others think pokertracker is wrong in bold, and even more think that poker in general is wrong. Without logical reasons for why X is more/less wrong than Y, this is (to quote Lebowski) just like, your opinion man. Don't pretend that there is some objective moral standard that includes just what you want as moral and everything else as immoral. That's just a self-serving farce. [/ QUOTE ] This is absurd. There is no grey area here. There is no argument to justify what happened. Stealing from strangers who have done you no wrong, when you don't need money is WRONG. That is an opinion held by 99.99 percent of the population. That is what ZJ did. I'm appalled at how many people think ZJ did this just to have more entries, or it wasn't much more ev, or that he didn't collude when he got to the same tables. You guys are either attempting to justify some of you own actions in this backward manner, or have truly been fooled and blinded by this CON-ARTIST. |

[ QUOTE ]
I didn't realize that Craftsman parts were made there. A better-known example would be buying Nike shoes after condemning abusive factories. It's the definition of hypocrisy to do that IMO. [/ QUOTE ] I think you thought my example was less absurd than it actually is. In my case, I was taking what is most likely a completely unrelated global problem that I don't recall seeing a public statement on from Sears. The reason that I don't think your example is similar to Stars from my point of view is that it in your example, Nike itself is largely responsible for those working conditions. Now perhaps you feel that Stars/Party are responsible for the cheating. In some sense there may be some truth to this, but I think ultimately it is the cheaters themselves who bear the responsibility. I could be wrong, but it seems like really cracking down on multiaccount practices would involve practices that I'm not sure people would necessarily support. [ QUOTE ] That's really not what I'm saying. I know cheating happens in poker and that it's impossible to prevent it sometimes. But it seems like Stars is behind the times in terms of its prevention of this practice. [/ QUOTE ] The Exclusive affair brought it to the public eye, Stars changed their policies. Now it's become big news again in the last week. I think most people here don't have a sense for how easy this is or isn't to catch, and how hard Stars is or isn't looking. So I'm hesitant to go to town on Stars for this. I completely support expressing to them that I think they should do quite a bit to curtail this kind of activity. However, given the huge stink this has caused in the online poker community, I think it would be a little silly to think that they won't make some moves on this front. They need to assure people that they are taking game integrity seriously for their own bottom line. So I expect that strong public responses will likely be forthcoming when there are some high profile busts there. They looked into JJ, and I'm quite confident we'll see Zee's Stars account being closed if it hasn't been already. |

I'd like to be the first to say that I disagree with the actions of ZeeJustin. [/ QUOTE ] Easy joke: I'm sorry that you didn't get your wish. I haven't been able to read this entire thread, but I've read a fair amount and saw nobody, not even ZJ, say that they agreed with his actions. There are many people who say that they could understand how this would happen, and many who say that ZJ's a good guy even though he did it. |

[ QUOTE ]
I am planning to contact the WSOP organisation in order to make them work together with the sites, to establish a blacklist, to get Zeejustin and other cheaters banned for life from entering WSOP-tournaments. (I will give JJProdigy the benefit of the doubt due to his young age and immaturity (for him thus the punishment would be too harsh) The reason I will do this, is that I think it will deter people from cheating as playing in WSOP is a dream for many online tourney players. Reasons I have found so far for WSOP taking these steps: -publicity regarding a cheater playing in the WSOP-tournies will damage the image of the WSOP-tournies -publicity regarding a cheater placing high in the WSOP-tournies may lead to players questioning the integrity of the WSOP-tournies, thus leading to a lower turnout. -lifetime banning will be a strong signal to send to the player community that no cheating online is tolerated, thus more players are inclined to play online satelites, thus leading to higher turn out. Any other reasons I can use? [/ QUOTE ] I love this idea, and also think there needs to be a much better deterant to cheating. Despite the many people that think it is pointless, I still hope you contact them. |
