Ok, so I lied about not playing online till friday, I got really bored at work and I have most of my stuff done today, so i decided to 6 table during my lunch break at absolute

Im trying to build a role there from scratch so i'm playing nl25... remember you buy in for 200bb at absolute so ill play differently against deep stacks, I just want to know if you call or not here, no other thoughts.

i am sb with QcJc.... mp raises to 4bb, co calls, I call from sb, bb completes
flop 8c5c2c.... I elect to check, bb checks, mp raises 12bb, co folds, I elect to call, bb folds
turn 9h. mp bets 24 bb, I elect to check raise to like 72 bb, mp shoves for like 110bb more, i cover,
Hero.... this is a snap call right? I think he has an overpair with a club, probably kings or aces

anyways im really loving absolute, havent played there in awhile, if your an experienced deep stack player I think you can bank here, also, i started with 300 and am up like 250 in poker but lost like 150 in blackjack since i got $'s there... i gotta stop playing blackjack at work!

-dex

ps sorry for the hand history, dont know where to convert absolute hands since I havent played there in like a year

I think folding may well be best here, because even though he has aggressive stats, I'm not so sure he would bluff here against 3 players even though noone bet the flop. And I think I'm right in saying that the aggression in his stats doesn't necessarily mean he's been bluffing, he may just play aggressive when he hits. The big problem is that you don't know if he's going to bet the river or not and if you are calling the turn I think you have to call the river too, unless he bets big.

I think you should definitely call the shove, you only need to be right about 27.5% of the time to break even.

Actually it's a bit more than 27.5% because if he has a set/2 pair or the ace/king of clubs, but I still think it's a call.

3. Finally, I find it easier to play a, say, 19/17 > 22/19 game at 100NL. I really don't know why this is, but at 50NL I find myself retreating to 15/12 an awful lot. Odd.

[/ QUOTE ]

Same thing happens to me at NL50 at FT...it really depends on table dynamics though...the tables where its limp, limp, raise to 1.50, completely kills my VPIP. I guess the higher you get, the less you see that happening.
