GKA,
If that deal happens I'll ship you 5 bucks. That's so one-sided it's crazy. There's still talk about some combo of Gordon and Deng, and then it gets tricky. It might be worth it, but there's a pretty good chance that Deng becomes a major beast. |

Hense me saying "deal of the millenium."
Gordon = excellent bench scorer. Gasol = franchise big man. Gordon and Deng might work, but then Chicago wouldn't throw in a pick as well. Deng is probably the best Bulls player, so I doubt they want to give him up. |

[/ QUOTE ] it looks like gasol has peaked as a 18/8/1.5 player, which is great but i don't know if i wan't to build my franchise around him. and please don't give up deng. of course, my mislike of this possible trade could be coming from a fundamental misunderstanding of the draft - the bulls have the knicks pick...so if they knicks would have bad enough record to get into the lottery, the bulls would have a lottery pick? or do have that that wrong? it seems like giving up a shot at oden or durant would be a tragedy. obviously i don't know much about the draft or the nba in general, i'm just a chicago homer. |

Evan,
That's how the draft works. I don't see how the trade impacts that. Are you saying that if they get Gasol, they won't want Oden/Durant? Well, maybe, but then they have a huge trade chip. Here's my one concern with Gasol. I don't have a listing of every big man to come back from a broken foot, but I know it has troubled some real stars. Bill Walton's career was both cut short AND he never sustained his true potential. For Kevin McHale, it cut a few years off his career as well. So I can understand if front offices are hesitant to give up a lot for him. He's a franchise big guy, but he's not a once-in-a-generation type guy ala Duncan or KG. He's big scorer who rebounds a bit less than he probably should. |

fresh off my 1-day suspension and ready to talk some bball
i predict in a couple weeks the suns have the best record in the league, not because the mavs will have lost, but because they will have played more games than the mavs |

It was pretty dumb but it seemed like adding insult to injury. Did you at least get a PM from a mod? Anyway, out of nowhere all these talking heads and bloggers are predicting wins clear up until next week vs. San Antonio. Ugh - this makes me more convinced than ever that they'll randomly blow one of these road games they should win. And why is everyone assuming the Cleveland one will be so easy? The Suns played a great game last night, but off nights happen and they're probably due for one. Particularly playing four road games in five days. |

And why is everyone assuming the Cleveland one will be so easy? [/ QUOTE ] Because the Suns absolutely killed Cleveland 2 weeks ago. And they demolished the Wizards even though Amare hardly played in the first half because of foul trouble. They are so clearly superior to all NBA teams not located in Texas that it easily leads one to predict lots of wins for them. |

evan,
sorry I'm a complete 'tard. While I was thinking that through I was thinking from the Grizz's perspective. sorry, your point is valid. As for the KG overrated stuff, that sounds like some skip bayless type talk. He's legitimately in the "best PF ever" debate, along with fellow big man Duncan. It's not his fault he's got Kevin McHale running his ship into the ground (which bums me to no end, because seeing Kevin McHale the player delights me.. I love catching old celtics footage to watch him play.) |
