[ QUOTE ] made guys are not necassarily capos, capos are always made guys. Least important Associates -> soldiers -> made guys -> capos/underbos -> bosses -> capo di tuti- most important. [/ QUOTE ] hmm.. good point. Then who are the bosses? I forgot that step. I know the Silvio is the Consigulari, I don't think he runs a crew, or am I wrong? TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] From whay my uncle says, he was a bigwig back when the Italians and the syrians used to go at it in the 80s, the bosses just kind of oversee the capos, and are the middle men between the capo's and the really higher ups. Kind of like a secratary for a CEO. |

So Tony is a Boss, but not the boss of bosses. That makes sense, he has to kick up to Johny Sack I assume?
One thing really confused me, who kicked the bucket in the Fed's car? Wasn't that Carmine Lupertazi? I thought he died already... Carmine was the Boss of the Brookyn Crew who Johny Sack took over. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

That was Ray Curto who died in the car. On the flowchart it even says The RAT! Next to his name. This scene was just after Tony says, "I can't catch a break!" but this was a huge break for Tony.
As far as I know, Tony is boss of Jersey, Johnny is New York. I don't think Tony kicks up to Sack, they are more like equals and business partners. I could be wrong on this. |

[ QUOTE ] Is there a flowchart somewhere that would illustrate the Sopranos heirarchy for idiots/non-Italians like me? [/ QUOTE ] Here [/ QUOTE ] That chart has some signifigant errors on it. For example Tony B was kicked up mid-season last year. And Richie Aprile was a cappo. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [/ QUOTE ] No, tony doesnt kick up to anyone. What I listed was a break down from each family. Ie, you have a jersey family, the five families in New York, ther is a Kansas City familiy, etc. The capo di tuti, kicks up to no one, but he does negotiate the splits of any shared turf with any other capo di tuti's, ie if you have a constuction bid, where you hold the keys to the union, but the job is in another guys turf, you split the profit. That wasnt Carmine he is dead. |

I really don't get the women in this show. What does Carmela think Tony does for a living? She's acting like "good mother" and "happy family" when her husband is a mudering thug. That whole contradiction always bothered me. The same thing with Eugene's wife - does she not even have a clue? [/ QUOTE ] She specifically said to him that she knows he has killed people. |

The Sopranos site on hbo.com has a great little flowchart of the family, but I think it's how the FBI sees the heirarchy, not truly what it is.
Tony S. doesn't kick up to anyone, but I don't remember if he's the capi di tuti (capo of all). |

SEVEN SOULS
The ancient Egyptians postulated seven souls, Top soul, and the first to leave at the moment of death, is Ren, the Secret Name. This corresponds to my Director, He directs the film of your life from conception to death. The Secret Name is the title of your film. When you die, that's where Ren came in. Second soul, and second one off the sinking ship, is Sekem: Energy, Power, Light The Director gives the orders, Sekem presses the right buttons. Number three is Khu, the Guardian Angel. He, she, or it is third man out . . . depicted as flying away across a full moon, a bird with luminous wings and head of light. Sort of thing you might see on a screen in an Indian restaurant in Panama. The Khu is responsible for the subject and can be injured in his defense- but not permanently, since the first three souls are eternal. They go beck to Heaven for another vessel. The four remaining souls must take their chances with the subject in the Land of the Dead. Number four is Ba, the heart, often treacherous. This is a hawk's body with your face on it, shrunk down to the size of a fist. Many a hero has been brought down, like Samson, by a perfidious Ba. Number five is Ka, the Double, most closely associated with the subject. The Ka, which usually reaches adolescence at the time of bodily death, is the only reliable guide through the Land of the Dead to the western Lands. Number six is Khaibit, the Shadow, Memory, your whole past conditioning from this and other lives. Number seven is Sekhu, the Remains. |
