something i'm curious about: most of the people who know what they're talking about are saying aba has the edge here, and they're probably right, but i'm curious about the consensus that barry g and other name pros compliment sammy to keep him in the games.

however, the fact is that he is regularly playing in these games, surely if he was a losing player he'd be broke from playing the highest stakes years ago? does he have any source of money outside poker?

Someone needs to throw a rope around Brians neck and drag him away from that table.

Sammy's edge is much larger in PLO than Brian's edge in NLHE.

The problem with this situation for Brian is that it's probably a challenge and a sick rush, but he's also in a position where he could lose a lot, and not win near as much.

I wouldn't be surprised if he dropped seven figures in this game.

lol seriously i will put 80% of my roll on aba in this match it is soooo not even close he has a massive edge in both NLHE and PLO this is a joke

[/ QUOTE ]

If Brian has the same attitude you do, he could go off for a big number.

And depending on your definiton of 'massive edge', I'd be pretty dissapointed dropping 5 buy-ins over a long session to a guy I had a 'massive edge' over.

If you want to take some action on the results, I'm game. I'll take sammy, obv.

There is an interview here:

At least according to him it seems his money comes from poker.

i'm pretty sure that anyone who thinks that aba's edge in overall poker skill is cancelled out by farha's superior ability at picking up tells or something stupid like that is a moron

I never really think there is a huge edge in poker against competent people in such a short time. How anybody is so adamant about 1 side is beyond me. You've got a cagey verteran playing on his home turf. How can you possibly fade him big. Regardless of how good a newcomer is you can't fade a veteran on his turf.

P.S. This is coming from the worst sports bettor of all time

I think I helped instigate this match yesterday. I'm passing Sammy onto Brian b/c I'm afraid to play him without a spot. I'm not sure who has the edge. Probably Brian but it's close if Sammy is focused. -BA

Coming from someone who probably plays online, and has only seen Sammy play NLHE on HSP.

You're wrong, btw.

Sammy is considered by his peers to be one of, if not THE best pot limit omaha player in the world, and you'd have to be an egotistical/extremely wealthy/sick person to play him HU at PLO, where there's a huge edge to be had, especially against an online player like Brian with enough success and money to get him into a lot of trouble.

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude, these "peers" are the same people who said that Layne Flack was one of the best NL players in the world just a few years ago.
