Party already took neteller away as a withdrawl option for Canadians...premature much? I had to withdraw to my bank through EFT today instead

Just setting up ePassporte...last one I plan on doing.

Apparently, I didn't listen to Roadstar's advice closely enough. They also put a microcharge on your CC, and need you to tell them how much it is. Same thing as Roadstar, CIBC Visa, phone them, and all they could give me was a Canadian amount. However, ePassporte has a spot to put a Canadian amount, and they convert it, so I figured I was okay. WRONG! LOL. Lucky for me, ePassporte gives you two shots at it. I'll wait until tomorrow, then phone again and see if they have a REAL US amount for me.

I don't know why some of these e-wallets make things so difficult. Neteller was easy to use and had almost no limits on transactions. They were almost perfect before the sh** hit the fan.

Can anyone describe to me what the difference between a bank transfer & a bank wire is? It says bank wire for c2p, but i'm not exactly sure what that entails in terms of fees.

I think a bank wire basically means you are giving them money, and they "wire" it (deposit it) to another account. The money could come from your account, but you would actually be withdrawing it from your account first, even though the teller would likely do it for you all in one fell swoop. A bank transfer would actually have the money going directly from your account to theirs. From what I understand, they can't do that because they are having trouble with their ACH, which is the same thing that is causing the Americans so much grief...all the ACH's have bailed on the gambling sites.

No big difference to us, except that it means we have to go in-branch every time to wire the money, instead of being able to "link" our bank account like we could to NT. As to fees, I'm not sure what kind of difference that makes. For MB, I believe we can do an actual bank transfer to their account in Germany...I was quoted fees at my credit union (Coast Capital) of $0 for <$100, $15 for $100-999, $25 for $1000+.

I'm not in the business, so I'm not sure if I have that all 100% right, but that is my understanding of the situation.

Great thread Bobo,

This has been very informative thus far but kinda on the low stake side for me. I am dealing with money in the thousands. I am not really planning to deposit much since I'm assuming I won't be going busto anytime soon. My only real worry is that of withdrawing.

What step should I take to be able to withdraw 10,000$ US dollars from Absolute Poker, Pokerstars or Full Tilt?

Well, Moneybookers is clearly out of the question, due to their limits. ePassporte limits you to something like $400-800 in withdrawals from your account per day, which sounds like a PITA for big rolls. C2P might be all right, but it isn't available on Stars.

If I were you, I'd look into ePassporte and see if you can work with their limits. It's about the only eWallet for Stars, and handles all 3 sites you mentioned. If you're just sticking with those 3 sites, and for big stakes, why bother with an eWallet at all? To me, an eWallet is a bigger deal for those of us bonus whores who are contantly moving funds on and off of multiple sites to take advantage of reload bonuses and the like. I've yet to go busto, thankfully, yet I'm churning a fair bit of money through NT this way...an eWallet is critical to me. I wouldn't think an eWallet would be all that important for you.

What are the options like for just withdrawing directly from the sites via EFT/wire/cheque? That might be the best way to go. There are several threads here on this already, although they are mostly from an American perspective...you might just want to contact the sites for more relevant information.

Progress!!!!!

My MB deposit FINALLY came through at UB. So, stubborn man that I am, I immediately tried another $10 deposit. Went through in seconds, just like it's supposed to. Think I just got caught in an eWallet wormhole or something earlier in the week. I feel much better now.

Still waiting on Party. They FINALLY emailed me back earlier this evening, 48 hours+ after this started, and after 3 or 4 emails. I already sent them all the transaction information, but now they want to know the email address I signed up under at MB. Sigh. SAME FREAKIN ONE I USE AT PARTY, YOU $^%$^$^%! There, I feel better now. Anyway, I bet I'll have the same result there...I'll retry once I get the first $10, it'll go through right away.

I thought there might have been a problem because I initially had two email addresses registered with moneybookers, but moneybookers confirmed that all three payments were sent with the correct addresses for the sites. Otherwise I have no idea why it took so long. I think a few of the sites (party for sure) have recently added moneybookers back in as a deposit option for Canadians and they may not be set up for it correctly anymore or something.

Ok, so this isn't really ewallet relevant, but I didn't think it deserved its own thread, and I figure every Canadian is reading this anyways. Here is an exchange I just had with support at Battlefield Poker.

Yuji: Hello, how may I help you today?

you: Hi Yuji, I am a Canadian player and have a question about withdrawing

you: recently I made a string of deposits via neteller totalling over $X. Now, as you no doubt know, Neteller
will no longer be allowing transfers for Canadians to/from gambling Merchants as of April 9th

you: So, I know that in the past, if I were to try and withdraw $X and put my preferred payment method as
check, I would receive that money via neteller. But, if I try to withdraw after April 9th, will my money then be
sent to the payment method that I select, since it will no longer be able to go to Netller?

Yuji: yes, correct.

Yuji: if there is any changes players will be notified.

you: So, just to clarify, you are saying that once Neteller no longer allows transfers for Canadian customers,
funds that would have automatically gone back to neteller (because of deposits made) will be available to be
withdrawn via the method of their choosing?

Yuji: At this moment, that is what it stands but if any specific procedural changes were to be made players will be
notified.

you: that is great news...What I was really worried about was having my $X tied up and not being able to access

it because Neteller is unavailable

you: ok, well that puts my mind at ease about this

you: thank you very much for your help

Yuji: Please don't hesitate in contacting us again if you have any further questions.

you: sure thing

Gah, I dumped most of my money into Party after getting spooked by Neteller. So I open a Click2pay account, reg my credit card and see that Party needs you to deposit with a C2P account before you can withdraw to it.

Well no big deal right, well no....they don't have C2P as an option to deposit, for me....gah. This blows, moneybookers sounds like crap, it is a total hassle to load C2P via EFT, I'll probably get crushed loading it via CC.

I miss Neteller already.

[/ QUOTE ]

So party does offer click2pay but only as a withdraw option?? And obviously most of us havent deposited using click2pay first. Is there anyway to deposit with click2pay before withdrawing?
