I've tried to hold off on posting much of consequence in this thread because I contract to the WPT. I'd assume that would, in the eyes of many, make any opinions I expressed appear biased, rendering them pointless. That said, I've seen a lot of silliness that should be addressed, so I'm going to try to do so as an observer. My comments here in no way reflect the opinions of the WPT.
It should also be said that while I have no vested interest in Oliver, I've found him at times to be a valuable source of information on many matters. - The notion JJ should sue the WPT is ludicrous. She entered the event of her own free will and under no obligation to do so and knew the risks. - The notion the event should have been stopped is equally ludicrous. Poker tournaments require stamina to thrive in. That she is a woman or pregnant should not have a bearing on how she as a player is treated. No player is bigger than the game, and the rules are simple, obvious and straightforward. - The professional attacks in this thread on Oliver are inappropriately timed. Oliver has obviously burnt bridges in the past, but he participated in this thread to shed light on an awkward situation where he was trying to act in JJ's best interests. Those who have professional problems with him should either have addressed those problems at the time those issues arose, waited until the JJ situation played itself out or at least addressed those problems on a more suitable platform than an internet forum. I think his posting originally opened him up to personal attacks of a non-professional nature. - Oliver is not an entertainment agent and as such (to my knowledge) doesn't require any sort of certification. Dan and JJ presumably retained him because of his vast knowledge of the Asian Online Poker market. His presence at the TV taping doesn't change the nature of their arrangement. In a situation where JJ's manager (Dan Alspach) was obviously otherwise engaged, Oliver did what he thought was best in trying to control the situation. I think he could have done a better job of that, but that doesn't change any of the above. |

but he participated in this thread to make an awkward situation even more awkward where he was trying to brag about being an agent and potentially spam his agency business. [/ QUOTE ] |

I have been instructed not to post to this thread anymore. [/ QUOTE ] It is absolutely stunning that you couldn't figure out this was the best course of action long before being 'instructed' on this. If this is just code for you having finally decided yourself to stop posting in this thread it is still stunning that it took you so long to do so. I'm pretty sure J.J. or Dan would not exactly be thrilled with how you 'represented' them in this thread. Also - that whole long post about being an agent in California vs. Nevada vs. anywhere else was so bizarre and unnecessary I don't know where to begin. |

I am J.J.'s poker agent for the online gaming category ONLY, but I am not J.J.'s entertainment agent and I am not J.J.'s manager. [/ QUOTE ] You have no standing representing JJ in this matter. In other words, "STFU, Donnie, you're out of your element. |

I need a manager. And an agent. [/ QUOTE ] I managed a little league team once. And I was an insurance agent. Do I get the job? Oh, and I hope someone advised JJ to please not show her saggy boobs any more on TV. She's not a hottie, but she seems very nice. |

I'm the coach/manager of my coed rec-league soccer team.
We went 1-9 last year. One of the teams we played against are called "The Agents." They beat us 4-0. (edit - I do not believe Oliver was on this team. Does this lessen his status as an agent?) I also know all the words to "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers. And I can always refer to Oliver's handy Agent-law-in-various-states post if I get in a bind. I think I should be your agent.
