Default update

not really much, no details.
Hello Jean-Claude,

We thank you for your patience.

Currently, we are still investigating and we have located and frozen a
large portion of your funds. Unfortunately, we are unable to release
any more information until the investigation has been completed.

As stated before, your case has been given top-priority. However please
know that account and security investigations of this nature typically
take 48 - 72 hours to resolve and may take even longer in your case due
to the amount of funds involved. Please know that Full Tilt Poker is
working as quickly as possible to resolve your issue.

At this time, we ask you to check and ensure that your account and
computer are safe against security threats. Please ensure there are no
viruses, keyloggers or other malicious software on your system by making
use of antivirus and spybot software.

We have temporarily suspended your account?s ability to chat, play,
transfer or deposit as a precaution ? but you will be able to log into
your Full Tilt Account.

We have reset your password at this time to ensure that your account
remains safeguarded. Your new password has been emailed to you at this
email address.

The next time you log in to Full Tilt Poker, you will be prompted to
change your password. Please remember to select a password that cannot
be easily guessed (do not use your name or birthdate for example), and
never let anyone know your password under any circumstances. Also, do
not check the ?Save Password? option in the login screen as this allow
anyone that has access to your computer access to your Full Tilt
account.

In addition, we ask you to change your other passwords, such as email or
processor logins, as a safety precaution.

Even Full Tilt Poker staff will never require your password -- the only
time you need to enter your password is when you open the Full Tilt
Poker software on your computer to log in and play.

After you write back to us and confirm that you have sole and secure
access to your Full Tilt Poker account, we will restore your account?s
rights. After we have completed our investigation, we will only restore
any salvaged funds back to your account after you verify that your
account is secure.

Full Tilt Poker is dedicated to providing you with a safe and secure
gaming environment, and we appreciate you taking your part in protecting
your account.

If you have any questions regarding this or any other matter, feel free
to email. We will contact you as soon as updates are available.

Regards,

Johnson

I just wanted to ask you guys what the best forms of security are in preventing something like this from happeneing. I know it might be basic but having a full list of securing our Poker accounts might be useful just in case someone has missed one out/doesn't know the full risks out ther.

This has been posted several times before, but it bears repeating.

what was your password before, is it possible someone could have just guessed it?

the poker sites should offer secure one-time-use password systems to high rollers. I don't know exactly what they are called, but they generate a unique password every few seconds and displays it for you on a little key-chain sized thing. I don't think they are super-expensive.

ebay is offering this service to its customers for FIVE DOLLARS!! http://news.com.com/PayPal+to+offer+...3-6149722.html

Wow, that'd be a sweet security feature for poker sites. I'd be willing to pay alot for one of those, I'm sure nosebleed stakes player would be willing to pay far more.

This would pretty much eliminate remote account hacking, and limit security breaches to those who had access to you in person (who would have to find your login/pw and have this device to login).

I'm very comfortable with my local security, but the threat of a keylogger trojan, some guy at my ISP with huge amounts of time on his hands or some other middle man exploit scares me a bit.

What was your first reaction when you logged into your account and your balance read 0$ instead of 100,000$?

http://www.redbet.com/ has this feature. Costs 15€ (~20$). So its not that hard to do for a poker site. And i would guess it will be offerd at more and more sites, it should at least.

Hope u get ur money back jc.
