Email today from UB............

Dear XXXX,

Due to some recent changes in the online poker industry, NETeller has decided to no longer offer instaCash to its customers within the United States. We noticed you have used NETeller instaCash in the past to fund your UltimateBet account, and we have a number of safe and secure methods available to you.

We are pleased to recommend INSTADEBIT as an alternative payment method. It’s as easy as writing a check or using your debit card. INSTADEBIT is a safe, secure and easy way to transfer money from your bank account to your UltimateBet account. This easy-to-use payment system works the same way as NETELLER instaCASH. Simply create an account with INSTADEBIT, register your banking details on their secure system, logon to UltimateBet and move funds from your account to your UltimateBet account. It's that easy. All your banking information is 100% secure and completely protected with 128-bit encryption. To create an INSTADEBIT account, click here.

Looking for other ways to fund your account? We also offer many other easy-to-use payment methods such as: ePassporte, ATMonline, Central Coin and Click2Pay. Get all the details in the Cashier section of our software!

See you at the tables,

The UltimateBet Team

Lol,

it did not take long for UB to react to this. It just shows that the sky is far from falling, allthough it does seem like this whole thing might have serious negative impact on the industry. I would be somewhat suprised if Neteller did not announce tomorrow that they are leaving the US market for good.

Let me make a comment that is slightly off topic but directly related...

Do any of you know what a US Attorney or a State Attorney General in the US really is??? Other than the obvious, (an attorney, duh!!!) they are lawyers with higher POLITICAL aspirations. So, a US Attorney would some day like to be elected SENATOR. Likewise, a State Attorney General would probably like to be GOVENOR. So, how do you get elected to these positions? By taking a hot button topic such as ILLEGAL ONLINE POKER & prosecuting somebody so you can get in front of the media/TV camera & tell the world about it. You need the general, non poker playing public to know you are fighting for their moral rights while prosecuting the foreign, terrorist backed, money laundering, up-to-no-good scoundrels of the world like Neteller that promote ILLEGAL ONLINE POKER... ... does this post have too much scarcasm or just enough?

Although the individuals arrested were NETeller shareholders, they are
not currently employed by NETeller, nor have they been for several

America, the country where our government will let us legally kill a child (Abortion) but protect our moral rights and do anything so we do not play poker.

Just putting it in perspective as i see it.

This is out of hand. How long until the idiots in charge go after the executives at the Royal Bank of Scotland (or whatever escrow banks the majors use), jurisdictions be damned? That is the next logical step.

PokerStars broke ties with RBS because of the legislation.

I'm assuming any other site that continued to accept US customers would have needed to leave RBS also.

As a trial for us all, I have just withdrew 1k from PokerStars, proceeded to put it on my neteller debit card and safely recieved it through an ATM.

Besides the elimination of instacash the site seems to be operating as usual.

I will miss neteller the ease of use is unmatched

FWIW......I requested an EFT for $1000 on 1/17. As of today, the request is still pending. It normally takes two to four days for the EFT to complete.

The following message is posted in a link on the Neteller site on the member sign-in page......

US Member Update

Effective Immediately

Due to recent US legislative changes and events, effective immediately, US members are no longer able to transfer funds to or from any online gambling sites.

All US members will continue to be able to use their NETELLER e-wallet account to safely transfer funds to and from non-gambling merchants and are not required to close their account or withdraw their funds.

Please note that we are experiencing higher than normal support volumes and recommend that you read the FAQs for more information.

[/ QUOTE ]

......I will update this string with further news when it occurs.
