Chuck, if you check your logs it will show you what % of your visitors use which type of browsers. Another great tool to get a good handle on traffic, visitors, referring sites, etc., is google analytics. It's absolutely free and gives you real-time tracking of all kinds of interesting information. Feel free to PM me if you need some help in getting it up and running.

We do have a test/staging system. The reason for doing converting the archives is to figure out what we need to do to speed the conversion process up, to figure out how we want to configure the software in our environment, etc. The current archives will remain live until we are happy with the new software and the way we have it configured.

It would be foolhardy to do a live change.

Chuck,

I'd like to suggest that we setup testserver.twoplustwo.com, drop a plain vanilla UBB7.x build on there, and add accounts for interested mods and some posters to play around, test the stability, and use as a suggestion area for look & feel enhancements to v7.

A step in the direction of more Professional upgrade/roll out management.

Shortly after this post, on 1/31 the test server was setup. Chuck, Ryan, DB/Carter, Nat and Sniper dug into the backend configuration, while a small group of Admins/Mods/Posters went to work testing the software and new features.

Chuck has now posted a Tentative upgrade schedule. While additional testing continues, its nice when a plan comes together.

Maybe we can make some progress on some of the other suggestions in this thread after the UBB7 upgrade is complete.

I'd like to make a general suggestion...

why not have upgraded 2+2 accounts? For X amount of money per month users could: link to blogs in their location (or have a hosted blog if thats gonna be possible, have more PM space, advertise for coaching, view special secret forums (non-strat I guess) (or maybe only strat?), and uh...get free porn? Well, anyway, an idea.
