I don't think there's a single transition that's the most difficult. Each level has its challenges. I learn from the 25NL posts up through the 200NL posts. If the logistics for the split work out for the mods. Great. I don't expect some great quality boost from a split.

I.e. my posts won't suddenly get better or get better responses.

Mark me down as against the change.

I would ask the forum mods to continue to work to get the MSNL and HSNL players to post here (the Well comes to mind) as their advice is definitely coveted by a player such as myself.

[/ QUOTE ]

You guys keep saying this, but posting in SSNL is not a high priority for these guys. THere is a search function and archives. Read up on top players in strategy threads. A few of them even used to post in the small stakes forums.

Start by reading every strategy post that MDMA has ever written. Now repeat for El Diablo, riverboatking, fimbulwinter, thebruiser500. You get the idea.

--6m and full ring split = not gonna happen.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's cool. Just curious why since the limit tables thought the game different enough to separate it.

[/ QUOTE ]

because 6max and full ring limit play very very differently.

[/ QUOTE ]

And no limit doesn't? Your aggression and hand range are much different as well as the quality of hands that make it to showdown.

i think microlimit forums will be cluttered. not just with alot of traffic but bad advice.

[/ QUOTE ]

The micro posts already get lots of bad advice. How many NL10 hands (or even NL25) where Hero holds an overpair to the board and facing heat does the OP get responses like "at that level he'll call with anything. Push."

IMO, the NL100 and NL200 crowd don't usually bother posting responses to NL25 hands. I can't tell you how many times I've posted hands that, to me, don't seem straightforward, and get knocked off the first page in a matter of 30 minutes. I'll check back the next day and read the 2 responses that say "at that level ..." Villians flop sets and get dealt AA and KK at NL10 and NL25, too.

I'm in favor of a split, mainly because I'd like to see more NL25 hands discussed in depth, which rarely happens nowadays. As far as the clutter, we'll just point them to the stickies like now.

It's clearly going to happen but I like it how it is right now. Only problem is there is way too many threads in SSNL.

gb,
I'm running sick hot the past couple of days and will be back up pwning you shortly .

All,
I think this split is not only a good idea but necessary. SSNL traffic is huge and I think alot of interesting post/hands don't get the discussion they warrant due to the sheer volume of post. I for one will post regularly in both forums, and will do my best to ensure micro limit players suck as bad at poker as I do .

I don't think this has been handled particularly well. Nobody wants to be told that they have been cluttering SSNL and are now being demoted to micro-stakes. However, if it would have been presented a promotion for 100/200 players, there would have been fewer hurt egos.

If the new forums had been named Small-stakes, Mid-stakes, High-stakes and Super-stakes, wouldn't that have been better? Come on guys, do you think McDonalds would ever launch a micro-burger?

This sounds like an excellent idea! I currently play NL100 and have no interest at all to read NL25- posts.

[/ QUOTE ]

no one is forcing you to read them....

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok, thanks for being a jerk.
As you probably didn't figure out this thread is about splitting the forum to not clutter up with posts that people doesn't like to read anyway.
