Well last night I boycotted the Super and the 8pm (pac) $109, finding plenty of tourneys to play between Dise, Stars, UB, and FT. So, you're out $21 and counting, TAKE THAT PARTY!

Okay folks, here's an update from Mike O'Malley. Go back to my first post when I said that things WOULD be handled fairly in the end. I know it's incredibly frustrating working with Party support but guys like Mike (well, perhaps just Mike) eventually get involved and do what's right for their players.

Hi Lloyd,
We have made a decision to retroactively cancel the tournament when it first started experiencing problems (753 players remaining). The 252 players that were still in the tournament when it was actually cancelled will keep the money that was paid out to them. The other players, eliminated between places 253 and 753, will all be receiving increased payouts according to our Tournament Cancellation Policy.
Please watch for an email with all of the details in the next few days.

I apologize for the problems that you experienced in the tournament and especially the slow follow up to your concerns. In the future we will strive to keep you better informed.

Mmmmm, well this is good for many people but I'm still screwed, since I was one of the guys still left with 250 players left, but I was unable to play since there were like 400 players left, so, a lot of my money went to some of the other guys that stole my blinds. Basically I lost a bunch of equity due to a Party problem, I don't know what else I can do, but I'm glad the situation is being rectified for some of you guys.

This is clearly the correct decision and I'm glad Party has stand up guys like Mike on its team.

They've always treated tournament players fairly in the past which made this treatment so shocking.

This is nice, and it only took 4 or 5 days...wow...but Party still sucks and you would be fools to continue playing there regularly.

You still made more being in the last 250 than what your equity was at 750.

sirio,
As someone else pointed out, your equity at the actual split was greater than your equity with 753 players remaining.
There were six players where this was not true, and those six I will deal with individually.
It was a bad situation, in a big tournament, that we did not handle efficiently. I apologize for that. Please send me an email and I will have a look at your situation to make sure you were taken care of.

Thank you, Mike. I am glad to hear that there are people at Party that are committed to protecting our equity.

As I said in my email to you, I think the final 252 players are getting overpaid, as many of them were in that position because they unfairly stole our blinds. But as long as that money is coming out of Party's pockets and not mine, I can live with it.

Party cost themselves a good chunk of money here because they didn't respond quickly--they could have frozen all payouts until an equitable resolution was reached. I know that wasn't your fault, Mike.

Edit: I just received the official payout info from Party. I was only slightly screwed, as they have me about 1700 chips short of my final stack size at the end of my last hand before the pause (I got a walk in the Big Blind when everyone was still able to play at my table). But I'll accept that. I also appreciate that Party is refunding the $15 entry fee and paying everyone a $100 bonus. I guess you guys that already received $215 bonuses may end up with a better deal. Meh... I can live with that, too.
