yves this is just a suggestion...since you are pretty well respected, if you are seriously questioning yourself as a player you could make a sample vid of you playing like 4 or so tables and just let others on 2p2 help you out. i'm sure if you have any major leaks some of us would spot them pretty fast. also remember variance is a bitch so you never know, i'm pretty sure it's just variance but u never know.

i 6-tabled the entire time. table vpips on ALL my tables were 35+. Some loose opponents are better than they seem. Some people don't understand the value of relative position. And some people's games are relatively poorly optimized against weak opponents (mine included)

i think its quite possible that i am actually very bad at poker, and just ran sick hot for my first 100k hands. i havent won since june. im starting to doubt my skill as a poker player. i could very well be one of those guys who gets to mid/hi stakes only through a super hot run. You are not as good as you thought you were when you ran well. You aren't as bad as you think you are now.

my plan is to play 1/2 NL for the beginning of september. i plan to try and play 20k or so hands to see if i can regain any sort of confidence/ability. i still have about 40k offline but honestly i feel sick thinking about dipping into that. if i cant beat online with 25 buyins, what good would having that 40k extra do except to drain away even more? Moving to 1/2 is a great idea. I do it regularly when I'm on a horrific run.

now that im looking back on my PT hands, i probably am leaking money out of a lot of places. Looking for leaks in PT/studying poker isn't something you do when you run bad. It's something you do ALL THE TIME. So if you are only now realizing you have spots you can improve, part of your downswing you should take responsibility for.

but the utter frustration of realizing if all my 90%+ hands held for the night, id be in the green, is killing me. Wow, so stupid. Winning on any given night is luck. Worrying about it is retarded. Spend your energy on something constructive.

krishan, trust me, i study my PT stats/hands all the time. it just so happened that i was loading my hands at the beginning of my post, and when they finished, i went to check up on them.

and these loose opponents were terrible.

Yves, I seriously don't see how you could lose 8k in about 2k hands with your style. I have no idea if that was a shot at 5/10 or monkey tilt, but playing anywhere from 16/12 to 20/15 should still not warrant that kind of dip. I've been on 3-4k downswings, but that's running at like 32/19 AND going on sick monkey tilt and really spewing money away. I just don't understand how you could not be crushing 2/4 I'm beating it just decently over ~50k hands (pretty good over the last 20k) and I feel like 16/12-20/15 preflop would get me a better winrate, honestly. That said, I've always felt like you are aggressive postflop. I'm not saying this is a leak of yours, but perhaps you can try not to win every hand postflop. I'm playing a bunch of them and c-betting and taking down the free pots, but I'm really giving up often when met with resistance. There are a lot of people at 2/4 who just don't fold. The regulars really aren't that good (with the exception of a few).

Bottomline, I've felt comfortable playing most games on Party, even 6 tabling, with only like 12 buy ins in my account. I guess you could play 15k-20k hands at 1-2 relatively quickly, but I'd start raping 2/4 sooner than later because it really isn't very hard. Also, I hear 3/6 is quite weak, though some of the regulars are better. I also know players who I consider to be on the same level as me that are beating 5/10 at a 3.5 ptbb100 clip. I'm simply pointing out that cash games on Party are still retarded. The key when running like you are is to make sure you don't tilt. Bad luck feeds in to bad play. Relax, people at 2/4 love to do things like this:

Yves: Consider that IMO hand values significantly go down in 1/2 compared to 3/6 and even 2/4.

dude with your talent/potential that is so lame to donk off cash like that at the end of a nice month..remove bj for good..

I'm an excellent backgammon player-supported my college spending other than tuition. I used to also play in games right across from the World Trade Center daily when I lived in nyc.

ie PartyBackgammon-I did take a look at it then I deleted it the next day. Party Casino and all references to bj and sidebets have been removed from day 1.

be a [censored] mensch

blackjack is for idiots -even if you do score big you are setting yourself up just to get smoked the next time you try and get even from a bad poker session.
