Default Re: $25NL JJ in BB vs shorty...

Karp, sick spot on the river with no reads. I guess I call getting 2.3-to-1 and no reads.

I like how you played the rest of the hand on every street.

This guy is 8 PFR, I have a hard time believing he stacks off pf with JJ or AQ vs a BB reraise. Also cha being to the immediate right of him won't have messed with his raises much before, not to mention that he is 8 PFR so cha should stay the hell away from his raises. If you think JJ or AQ is in his range though then it's a snap call.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just so we're clear, 8 PFR is 8%. Isn't the following range 8%?
22+,AQs+,AQo+

And the following would be 4%:
JJ+,AQs+,AQo+

If you know villain will do this on the turn, it's a sick move. Just sick. If you lost, I assume villain had T8.

Not always in cash games. His 22-77 maybe limp pf hands and he could pfr KQs or KQo or AJs or even T9s to replace 22-77.

I'm pretty sure I still have the best hand. Should I bet to protect the hand and for value, or check to control the size of the pot and maybe let him bluff into me?

I'd bet, weaker Qs, random hands, spades make up a large part of his range. I believe there is value in betting. I'd bet like $4.

Normally, I like to call with nut flush draws rather than raise and possibly chase away smaller flushes. This is also partly because opponents don't fold middle pairs, etc. at the low limits, so I feel it's better to wait until you have the best hand to put the money in.

This backfired on me here as shorty just outplayed me and stuck me in a bad spot where I can either call without direct odds and no gauranty he'll put the rest of his stack in if I hit the flush, push with the likely current worst hand, or meakly fold.

Should I have just raised the flop lead because of shorty behind me or just accept that once in a while you're going to find yourself in a weird spot like this?

Edit: shortstack was 20/5/2 over 20, SB was unknown it's his second hand at the table.

I've only been at the table maybe 10 hands, BB was maybe 10/0 - i.e. relatively unknown.

Villain is 21/12/3.5 over 140. Wtf does he donk two streets like this with? In retrospect, the only thing I can think of that he plays like this is Txcc, but in game this just had me really confused. Give me a turn action and an idea of what to do on the river.
