Yes. Daulton >>> Ruiz/Coste/Barajas Kruk <<< Howard Morandini <<<<<<<<< Utley Stocker <<<<<<<<< Rollins Holliins/Batiste = Dobbs/Helms/Nunez Dykstra >> Rowand Wes Chamberlain/Pete Incaviglia <<< Burrell Esienreich/Milt Thompson <<< Victorino/Werth The '93 team was pretty good offensively, but this team has got them beat. [/ QUOTE ] damn, dude. I was just about to post this comparison but was busy posting about how they showed a conclusive replay that Holliday was nowhere near home plate. i agree for the most part with all your comparisons, except I think maybe a few too many >>>s in the Dykstra > Rowand. edit: although, looking back at it, you only have >> which may be accurate. Nails was awesome. |

Yeah, Dykstra had a season in 93 similar (as far as I can remember) to Rollins this year.
Not liking the bats in the bottom of the first, but, meh, it's early during a day game, and those shadows can be a bitch this time of day. |

This team has a hard time winning when they don't score >3 runs. I don't remember the exact statistics, but they're pretty ridiculous.
The strike zone at the end of the day was moving a bit, but Utley's 4 whiffs and only one of Howard's seemed to be affected by that. I agree with Hoya in the other thread that Charlie managed this game poorly the whole way, but in the end, they just didn't hit. Hopefully today loosened them up a bit and they swing the bat a bit better tomorrow. |

and I still feel sick from Rollins swinging at that 3-1 fastball on the corner. and trying to pull it.
Tad leads off with a tough at-bat and draws a walk, and then that. |

Really though, I doubt it's possible for Iguchi to be worse in the field than Helms, so why not stick him there instead of keeping the hole in the lineup that is Helms/Nunez?

[/ QUOTE ] oh, woops. lol, I thought he was saying he wanted Tad to play for Utley because of his performance today. yeah, I actually agree that I wouldn't mind seeing Tad at 3rd. |
