I think it's fine as long as they realize that they're basically giving money away on a super -EV spot and don't get upset if they get stiffed.

Also, I think it sets a bad precedent, but whatever. I miss Cit.

I can definitely hear arguments against it based on bad precedent. At this point I'm personally curious, and I think it would take an act of god for him to get much more than his buy-in back, but crazier things have happened. However, if the consensus is that it's bad for the forums overall, I certainly wouldn't push the issue.

I'm not a SNG player so i have zero expertise but this seems silly...

Standard. If he stakes this down uncontested he takes the chip lead and can start pwning with any 2 on the next hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't have SNGW at work, but this does not seem like a good push to me... somewhat equal stacks, pushing Q6o from BTN... seems a lttle loose even at these blinds. From SB I push, or possibly if stacks are not so close. Can anyone run these #'s?

[/ QUOTE ]
The fact that the stacks are so close is what makes this push.

My comments. I'll have to talk this over with him, but I don't have a problem with it. So long as everybody knows it is just for fun. I sorta agree with Bones that it might be setting a bad precedent, so I hope we can find the right balance here and not go too overboard with the whole wickss soap-opera.

I also want everybody to realize that wickss has no chance of winning this. He has no chance of final-tabling, and it would be a minor-miracle if he cashed. That is not meant as an insult in any way, its just that I live in the real world.

Also, please make sure to give no reason for anything even remotely scandalous to come out of this. That would only harm everybody involved. Use common sense to figure out all the do's-and-don't's.

Lastly, you will see that wickss and I both registered in 2005. We have been lurkers for a long, long time. I only wish that we had been more regular posters so that our character could be vouched for. I understand all the fears about getting paid, etc.., but I assure you that everybody would get every cent owed to them. I guess for now you'll just have to take me at my word, that is all I have. Read again though what I said above about his chances, just being honest.

Having said all of that, this could be fun.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the BB's call much worse than the push?

Sounds good...
The position that I’m taking is that he’s been providing entertainment in that I get to watch him play and cheer him on. I had a baby at the end of March and my poker hours are being chopped daily, so this has become something like subscribing to the “Big Brother Live Feed” and hence my willingness to kick-in $10 and arrange the deal.

Let me know as I'm starting to get a list of people in PM's already.

And thanks for being up front about the expectations that I think we all should be sharing...
If you think this is a money maker please dont' send $$ - it's just for fun...

At the same time to Bones, , I respect your accomplishments and value your insights here. I don't really see the "setting a precedent" risk as long as expectation are clear of what this is and what it is not.

Disclaimer: I do not know wicks at all, therefore I have zero information about his character. This is not a comment on him specifically.

The thought of him winning this and shipping back 75k to people he doesn't know is laughable, especially since he seems to have almost no experience in the gambling world, and at this point, the money is likely much more valuable to him than his word.

I'd be up for staking 2$, but no more. It all adds up though!
