the mets needing a bat is a total joke with the expected production of those first 5 or 6 guys in the lineup...

won't argue with another pitcher though, an injury could just be too devastating later on...

Well, I'll be the 1st to come out and say it, Beltran now sucks more than Delgado.

If anyone is interested here are the RPP's of the Mets today....

Reyes .000
Milldege .000
Beltran .000
Wright 2.500
Delgado 2.000
LoDuca 1.667
Green .000
Sosa .000
Gotay .000

I have tweaked the statistic to take DP's into account. You may notice some odd things like Sosa having a .000 RPP even though he didn't make any outs. I will reveal that being part of run scoring rallys is the main focus of RPP. You may feel thsi gives hitters in the bottom of the lineup a disadvantage but the statistic accounts for that. Green, Valentin, and Miledge for example had deeper .000 than Sosa (fr exmaple going 0 for 20 is worse than 0 for 1).

I'm goign to try and get RPP's for the whole season to get a more accurate picture. But statistically David Wright was the Mets most important player today.

I voted Delgado just on the fact that I hate him more than any Met since Kenny Rogers. His damn bat/glove are so awful this year. Beltran has the catch of the year so far so he gets a pass in the vote vs Delgado.

Bob, interesting that you think Sosa is somehow responsible for the fact that he was not involved in any run scoring rallies. Your stat looks to be a real winner.

James
