I think they might have simplified or vetted the props so they're more relevant and easier to follow for the people at home. Everybody who plays poker knows 72 is the worst hand in poker(don't start), so it makes for fun viewing. When the props get complex like in the first seasons where it not possible for even experience players to follow, thats when it stops being good tv.

So awesome!

Also, wasn't Solario the guy that was murdered by his wife about 2 months ago? He was on Cash Poker too.

[/ QUOTE ]

I hope not, if so I talked to a dead man 5 minutes before the show. He blogs for my site, so the answer is no on Solario.

The murdered guy on Cash Poker was Bill Gustafik. I think he was featured in one or two shows.

Salorio also featured on Cash Poker and I think he came off as a bit donkish.

[/ QUOTE ]

I spoke with Antonio S. about the hand in question and his explanation seemed reasonable. The guy literally needed to flop quads to do what he did. While it is easy to focus on the 27 aspect of the hand the way Antonio played the hand was incredibly ballsy and I doubt many people could pull the trigger on that 50k bet. Anybody capable of making that play is anything but donkish but I do agree with you that is the way he has come off on both shows up to now.

I know when we initially spoke he thought experienced players would appreciate the bluff. I am pretty sure that is the biggest bluff ever on HSP.

I haven't known Antonio S. for very long but he seems like a really solid guy who plays in some of the wildest home games you have ever heard of.

I found Phil Hellmuth's explanation of why he made that move with 2 7 very insightful. He claims that he made the move knowing Matusow only had one bullet (buy in) and Matusow could not call a 40k bet.

[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely great move... Matasow had about $65k behind and the $40k essentially puts him all-in.

+EV imo for Hellmuth regardless of whether he wins or loses the hand because it gets him some great TV / youtube time!

Good point... and I swear that I will write a thank you letter to HSP and GSN if I go to my next home game and someone suggests that we all pay anyone that wins with 7 2!!

Just this *first* episode of HSP this year is enough to encourage the worst donkeys to make power moves and bluffs with 7 2!!

I think harrassing a customer for 15 minutes about getting a damage waiver is just as fagtastic, so, the punishment fit the crime..

[/ QUOTE ]
The problem is that other Hertz customers are paying for it with higher insurance premiums when they rent a car, not the manager. I agree with a prior assessment that the guy is an idiot.

[/ QUOTE ]

The guy paid the damage waiver, he got his money's worth. If you don't like it, then you can be the guy who turns down the -EV damage waiver, so it doesn't impact you. Sound good? It isn't his job to ensure low premiums for everyone else. He paid the waiver, he can do what he wants.

Also, it was hilarious.
