[quote How do you know he wasn't backed? [/ QUOTE ] Because with his reputation and talent, I don't think there is a stupid enough millionaire to do it. [/ QUOTE ] You overestimate the intelligence of the human race, even millionaires. |

[ QUOTE ] Everything you say is true, but why not just call the 15k? There's already at least 42k in there. Why just give it up? [/ QUOTE ] Calling the 15k is the same as going all-in, you can't call and then muck, so you'd be commited for the rest. [/ QUOTE ] Unless one of them was a short stack this is so incredibly wrong. |

8) High Stakes Poker: Watched the first episode of season three. For those that don't know, in the second episode Gabe will be jumping into my seat and I'll be jumping in the booth to do the commentary while he is in there. [/ QUOTE ] quote from DN's blog. should be interesting both to see gabe play and what DN will have to say about hands as they go down. |

Yeah I was udner the impression that Bodog gave him a huge chunk of money to play in HSP [/ QUOTE ] I'm still waiting for somebody to produce a single piece of evidence that Bodog backed him to play in this game. It's one of those things that gets repeated so much that it just becomes fact. |

That whole "Everyone hates Gold because they are jealous" line is completely retarded and has been proven to be many times over. [/ QUOTE ] It has not been 'proven' and is hardly retarded. You forget how much people did hate Moneymaker and were jealous of him. They picked on everything about the guy. Raymer is predominantly loved on this board but other boards wrote him off the same way and once again, picked on everything about him. I am not denying that Gold is arrogant or even a nit. But I know there is a considerable amount of jealousy out there when people see someone at or below their skill level succeed. It happens everyday in all aspects of life. It is human nature. |

To say that the animosity towards Gold is purely due to jealousy over his win is extremely overgeneralizing. His perceived personality plays a very large part in it, and there's no denying that. "oh, he just got lucky" is what people said about MM and Raymer. "that guy's an [censored]" is what people say about Gold. They'd be saying the same thing if he blew it at the final table.

They're playing a cash game, right?, so are all the chips on the table standard Golden Nugget chips? It looked like I saw black $100 and purple $500, but I didn't get much chance to study it. [/ QUOTE ] They're at South Point, right? They have black $100s, white $500s, yellow $1000s, blue/gray $5000s, and red $5s for tipping. Maybe an orange, too, but I'm not sure what that'd be. There's a good close-up in one of the clips they use coming back from commercial. |

Yes they are at South Point. They haven't been at Golden Nugget since season 1.
