This could be a very good gimmick account. He starts a story that everyone is interested in, and never finishes it. ie everyone is "Waiting for Godot".

I think you hit the nail on the head.

So I have a roll big enough for Pstars 100-200 game, but still underbankrolled according to most poker authors. Surprisingly, that wasn’t the problem. It was the 10-20NL game that did me in. I rarely played NL, but once I got a taste I couldn’t go back to limit. The thought of making several thousand a day like I saw some players do regularly was too great a temptation.

The most suspect statemement in the entire thread. How could someone who has actually played 100/200 SH limit suggest that it does not possess the lure of thousand-dollar daily swings?? Heck, you can easily have 2k swings playing 10/20 LHE!

In fact, this makes so little sense that I no longer believe a word of what Godot has said. Plus, "only daughter of a successful surgeon"...how cliched is that??

Pwned.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been using the "let it ride until you hit table max" blackjack system for the last couple of weeks and have made more money in the last two weeks at blackjack than I have in the last couple of years at poker. I think it is not 100% foolproof because of splits and double-downs, but it's pretty close. I think in the past I was busting out a lot in the middle of streaks when I would hit 13 and catch a ten. Now that I don't do that and let the dealer bust out instead, things have definitely been much, much, more successful. Any other tips you have to help optimize the system would be very much appreciated.

Please tell me that you're being sarcastic. I strongly suspect that with 12500 posts you are, but my lampoon-0-meter's battery might be low.

Allison sounds like she is straight out of a John Grisham novel. In fact, the plot is quite similar to the Grisham standard in many ways, Law school, shows promise, meets girl, goes off the tracks, problems with girl, redemption, gets girl back. redemption a false start, more problems with girl, .. Grisham would end it with the guys downfall, his redefining his values him and the girl realising what is really important and then going off to start a new life away from law. Or in this case from gambling.

I actually think Godot is a good storyteller and that may be where he should concentrate his efforts - in becoming the John Grisham of poker. Hwe would make more money probably. Grammar, yes a bit rough around the edges, he would need a good editor, but he can certainly tell a good story. Good luck to him whether its true or not.

On the subject of Samuel Beckett and French, ( and apologies if this point is already buried in the thread somewhere - I didnt see it anywhere) I heard somewhere that Beckett used to write his works in French and then translate them back into his native English, the aim being to let his own natural use of language interfere as little as possible with what he was trying to write.

Well, seems the consensus is building that the OP is pure fiction. Instead of waiting for Godot, why don't we all at 2+2 pitch in and continue this novel in installments.
