i forgot maybe the most famous one, if you are into sports.
bobby knight used to come hunting and fishing near the town that is grew up in. i showed up to pick up a friend for school and coach knight was eating breakfast at their table. he was cool about what you would expect. this was when indiana b ball was huge and i was in awe to say the least. now i probably wouldn't care a bit. and evel knievel, but he is a real winner that is hardly worth mentioning. that is all for now. |

I was on a game show hosted by Dick Clark. He's a douchebag. That probably deserves its own thread some time. [/ QUOTE ] Please elaborate, please please please please!!! I love a good douchebag story [like the Jerry lewis one]. When he hosted the pyramid show, he always came off as a controlling A-hole. I always thought that he must have been a nighmare to work with, especially if you had some lowly postion. |

Let's see:
George Bush (41) - twice...once at my high school, because I went to the same private school as his grandson and he and I were in the spring musical, and then, at A&M, b/c his library is there, and he has an apartment...I saw him in Wal-Mart...which is a bit disorienting...both times it was just a nod and a "How are ya?" Interviewed Robert Gates, new secretary of defense, twice when I was at A&M as well...wrote for the newspaper. Have met and spoken to Ray Childress, former Houston Oiler, a couple of times...his son goes to my high school. Saw Wayne Newton on a redeye from Vegas to Houston...a little strange, but he was just in first class with his much younger wife/companion and his young daughter. Not much, but I guess that's it. |

I was in the audience of the Maury Povich Show with James van der Beek.
In my senior year of college (1996), I was taking a Poli Sci course when the O.J. verdict came down. My prof had a connection with the Maury Povich show and was able to get audience passes for all of his students (same-day, no less), which included a freshman-only seminar that James was in. This was pre-"Dawson's Creek" (obv) but a couple girls there not with our group recognized him from Angus. Seemed like a nice kid. My last assignment at my old job was interviewing Vaughn Hebron, who was wearing one of his Super Bowl rings and had just been named head coach of a semi-pro indoor football team that ended up lasting half a season. |

I met diddy when his first album came out. He was in DC to promote his first album no way out. I was at a record store to buy in and he walked right in front of me. I only saw the back of his head and at the time I was pissed. Diddy is a small guy, he has to be like 5'7 and I wanted to get him the [censored] out of my way. He said something to the cashier and walked off. The cashier had this look on her face and was like OMG, that was puff daddy. I walked over to him and talked to him for a big. He autographed the cd. Side note:He had the single hottest girl I had ever seen in my life up to that point with him. 9 by OOT standards.
I've met Art Monk and like all of the Washington Redskins from the early 90s while going to Art Monk football camp. I dunno if most of you know who he is. I've played poker with James woods. I've also exchanged numerous emails with Barry Greenstein. I also met Mick Foley and talked to him for like 30 minutes about random stupid stuff. Super nice guy. |

Interesting side note to this thread. I used to date a stripper from Spearmint Rhino in LV. She has met Korn, that country singer doushebag who is in all those gay ford truck commercials. I can't think of what his name is. Mike Tyson, Nickle back, Phil Ivey. I'm sure she has met plenty of other dudes but I can't remember. She said Jonathen Davis of Korn kept on trying to get every dancer to sleep with him. Same for the lead singer of Nickleback. She also said Phil Ivey comes to Rhino at least twice a week and drops upwards of 50k a month at the club.

Muhammad Ali- His grandson or something was playing in a baseball tournament I was playing in during 7th grade. He was sitting in a car and we spotted him. I walked over and shook his hand. After this he pounded me on the shoulder and asked if I wanted to fight. You can definitely tell he's not all there.
Magic Johnson- He's a member at a health club I'm a member at; I've seen him a few times. The first was in the locker room when I had him sign my Michigan State shirt. He asked my name and if I even went to MSU games and talked for a few minutes. Really, really nice guy. Tom Izzo- Met him a few times, nothing notable. Pretty cool dude. Many Michigan State basketball players- Morris Peterson, Mateen Cleaves, Jason Richardson, Zach Randolph, etc. Not that big of a deal being from around there. Mateen Cleaves was actually the coolest one. He played a friend and I 2v1 and chilled in the stands with us during a basketball camp. He told me he loved my [censored] talk during a game I was playing. |
