tdarko,

I was kidding about the wins thing. I thought the 2nd part of my post explained there. You know, where I said Romo was the better QB but I just wanted Rex to be there. I really thought Rex would sneak into the pro bowl even though he did not deserve it as much as others.

Eric Parker is pretty damn good.

Keenan McCardell is good.

[/ QUOTE ]

They're a very "meh" tandem at best.

well passing statistics in general shouldnt be used as the almighty when discussing vick's value....

[/ QUOTE ]

Which is why I included Vick's rushing DPAR. Without rushing, Vick ranks 37th in the NFL, in between Seneca Wallace and Charlie Frye. With rushing he's about 23rd in the NFL.

[ QUOTE ]
youre gonna put a guy in that hasnt played a full schedule, it better be mcnabb

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm fine with putting in McNabb over Romo... but Romo would be 4th and end up making the Pro Bowl anyway because McNabb can't play.

Omg, you just can't fathom the greatness of Eric "First Down Machine" Parker. The dood is money.

The stats bear me out--he routinely is among the league leaders for catch%(and the more abstract DVOA). He is not a big play guy and we throw to our TE/RB more than any other team, so to a cursory glance he looks just like any other fill in.

McCardell is still pretty good.

I think you're wrong about Gore. Watch him play first please.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've seen him play a few times this year thank you. He is awesome - I even said so in this thread.

But I would love to see some proof that Gore is worth more value than Westbrook.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ok Pokerfink, I'm going to tackle this one. I can't say he is more valuable then Westbrook overall, but I think he is more valuable as a rusher.

[/ QUOTE ]

Your analysis leaves out fumbles(or fumbles/touch).

If we look strictly at lost fumbles(Gore 6 to Westbrook's 2), Gore has cost the 49ers ~16-18.5 points by losing fumbles 6 times instead of 2.

Shh, I know that hurts my argument. That is why I ignored that stat

That and because someone said in this thread that Gore has only fumbled once since week 5, so maybe he learned how to hold on to the ball.

So what does that have to do with his value this year?

Hint: nothing.

I don't know that it's greatly relevant for future years, TBH.

Nice to see the best speical teams in the league recognized with 3 pro bowlers, but Adrian Peterson should've made it not Brendon Ayanbadejo

teams average over a FG per fumble? since FO counts all fumbles, not just the ones lost, that seeems pretty high

I was strictly going by fumbles lost(Gore 7 fumbles, 6 lost. Westbrook 2 fumbles, 2 lost).

A lost fumble costs at least 4 points. The uncollapsed wave function of the fumble costs less.
