[ QUOTE ]
That's because their defense is terrible. [/ QUOTE ] werent they fourth in AL FRAR last year? either way, Jeter was the problem tonight he had 2 errors and I counted three bouncing singles up the middle which a major league shortsop should at least be making contact with that he didn't even touch add in 3 wild pitches and 1 passed ball... ugly, ugly game |

I know 2 seasons ago The Fielding Bible had Cano, Jeter, and Matsui(and Bernie) all bottom 2 at their position. Dial's ratings have almost all of their players well below average : http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/...s_as_i_see_it/ |

Cano is still developing, I'm not ready to write him off yet. That said, we should be careful when using defensive metrics, for the obvious reasons we all know. |

Found it.
Not FRAR, but team defensive efficiency. Yanks were number four in baseball: http://www.baseball-analysis.com/sta...php?cid=116643 |

I mean, c'mon, you've got jeter, cano, and giambi with zero range, bernie williams with less than zero range, a-rod who makes a ton of errors (and whose range is probably average to slightly above average). the only plus fielder was melky cabrera and maybe jorge posada |

I think Cano will develop into a fine infielder, especially under the tutelage of Larry Bowa. |

Cano will be a fine fielder... he's still very young and can only get better. Anything's an improvement over Knoblauch.
On another note... A-Rod's blasting homers IN New York, which I love seeing. I really dislike the rap he gets around the league, not to mention from some NY faithful. |

Speaking of which... A-Rod's 5th dinger!
All he has to do is keep this pace, and he'll hit 135 HR, and drive in 351 RBI. gg |
