I have dishes and cups in my kitchen cupboards that are rarely used. I always use the same dish and the same cup for me (I'm single, living by myself). When I wash them, they go on top or in front. I only use the rest of the 7 dishes and 7 cups when I have company. I find great joy in this, but I don't know why.

I also buy the 3rd newspaper from the top. But I don't think it's weird.



I buy lathes and put them in the middle of the living room.
I often wonder how many crazy abnormal gungho fight-to-the-death 5 year olds I can take.
I talk ad nauseum about a movie, to the point of it being a cult following, but don't see it.
I ask others how much to tip.

neurotic stuff like I click my teeth every time there's a white line on the road. Like, I just bite down every white line and see how many I can do. Sometimes I count them too. I'll walk to miss cracks but I'll also do a kind of 1-2, 1-2-3 pattern when i walk, to fit it in. The pattern will be going in my head. Then there's always the problem of whether you have to make a small step or big giant one.

I also empathise way too much I think, when I think someone looks stupid or goofy often I will feel embarassed for them. I however, constantly act in stupid and goofy ways myself, so I wonder if other people are wondering this about me.

I'm also kind of constantly scribbling on a piece of paper, it's like an output for the chaos in my brain. A page might look like a scribbled list of things to do, some random game theory poker stuff, heaps of doodling, spirals etc. When I'm bored I will just stare at a blank sheet of paper until I start writing something productive on it (not like a writer though, I'll just doodle / scribble until my brain outputs something worthwhile relating to anything). Doing this if I'm stoned is incredibly odd...

I also wonder about people's really weak moments, that only they see. Like when you're on your own and your like 'whoa if someone had video footage of this they'd really think humanity was incredibly [censored], even though everyone has moments like this. Beating off comes to mind in various situations. I imagine this is why religious people seem more closed off towards stuff like that since they might think God was a camera man watching them (I'm not talking about watching gay porn or something btw, more like on drugs or in someone elses house). On that same note, isn't beating off kind of weird how you actively replay 'videos' of your past sexual exploits? And you'll replay certain ones from the 'catelogue', like, hmm, today i feel like a Brunette'.

Sometimes I wake up from a dream and I'll be like 'wow what the [censored] was that all about... and I'll feel like my life is headed in some strange direction. Then I'll think about it in the shower and next thing you know I have nfi what it was about and i'm hungry so I just forget it.

I feel totally normal though, these neuroticisms strangely have basically 0 effect on my every day life, pretty funny, the things that just go on behind closed doors.

When I see a business name I need to convert it into a word that I could recognize using a ten point syllable system. For example I will say "Tomas the Cook" in my head. This is 4 syllables. So say it again for 8. Now there are 2 points left so I have to try to make the name recognizable with 2 syllables. I would probably pick Tom Cook. I think that when I die I will be presented with the list of shortened words to decipher and if I get one wrong someone I care about will get hurt. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

This is a great example of the kind of stuff that I find unwatchable. Some people would just laugh at the guy, but watching something like that is just torture for me and I need to turn the channel immediately.

I can't remember the name of the show, but there was a "fake American Idol" show on a couple of years ago where they would convince horrible singers that they were great, and had a fake audience cheering for them, etc... and then revealed the "joke" to the winner (ie. the worst singer) in the final episode. My girlfriend loved the show, but I couldn't watch it for more than a few seconds without getting up and leaving the room.

Unless a girl is spending the night I sleep on my couch rather than my very nice bed.

Compulsive hair cutter, I do it while watching TV, no mirror needed...luckily I'm good at it.

When I pee into a toilet and someone is within earshot, I feel uncomfortable if I don't pee for more than (say) 10 seconds. So if I need to go to the washroom but don't feel that I'll urinate much, I'll sit down. (Public urinals are fine though, because they're relatively soundless.)

I derive great satisfaction from popping a puss-filled zit.

I play the lines game on sidewalks and such. (I don't step on them.) I play it not just on sidewalks though. If I play it, I may play it on any kind of lined floor (like tiled floor).

I talk to myself a lot, but in my head, almost never aloud.

I guess its not good that I do so much stuff in this thread.

I have a crazy oral fixation, basically chewing on any toothpick, straw, pen, plastic spoon in site. I don't smoke very often but when I do I like to hold the cigarette in my mouth without lighting it for awhile.

I do the getting uncomfortable thing like others, never knew other people did to. Never liked Meet the Parents because of it.

I also do the running up the stairs or down the hallway thing to get to my room just in time for who knows what reason and I also duck inside the door or around a corner to avoid people sometimes, maybe just because it makes me feel stealthy like a ninja.

When there are other people around, especially in someone else's house and I have to pee I often sit down so that it doesnt make the splashing sound.

I put butter, but never syrup on my pancakes and I cut them perrfectly symetrical as if it were a pizza. This is one that people always find so bizzare, but it never struck me as that odd.

I have to eat Skittles a certain way, usually two at a time, trying to mix up the colors and I ALWAYS have to leave one of each color at the end of the pack to eat all at once. If I am not able to do this I die a little on the inside.

I had this exact same problem, still do to some extent.

In a similar thread a while back, someone said they solved this by counting to ten, or doing some arbitrary math in their head while they prepared to pee.

I routinely count to ten when I pee, and usually by ten I am well on my way to the utopia of urination.

I, too, suffer from the TV moment phobia. I just can't watch it sometimes when it is really awkward.

My real weirdness is I have a strange social phobia. While at work and at college, I would be considered a charismatic extrovert. While at home, there are times that I won't answer the door. At a store, if I see someone I know (and this is common in a smaller town), I try to avoid them at all costs. I really get fearful for some reason.

I will then talk to these people later at work and I am a totally different person.
