Default cover songs better than the original

the "songs everyone loves" thread got me thinking about this. what cover songs are better than the original?

i can only think of "hallelujah" (leonard cohen) by jeff buckley. any others?

I might get lynched for this, but I like DMB's version of Watchtower better than Hendrix. Although Hendrix is obviously awesome.

I also like GNR's Live Or Let Die a lot.

Also, the classic youtube clip of The Boss taking over One Headlight. Not really a cover, but whatever.

I also vote for Cash's version of Hurt. I LOVED the original, but Cash's version - wow. I wonder how much the incredible video (for me, one of the best music videos OAT)influences that opinion.

Who are DMB? Watchtower is a Dylan song covered by Hendrix...

Um, Dave Mathews Band? And, they do a pretty good cover of Watchtower. I still lean towards Hendrix's though.
