Well, with an M of 5.5 I'd wait for a better spot than A8s from UTG, but I also don't think it's a terrible play. Certainly a lot better than many of the crazy plays we've seen.
If his stack was 800k instead of 500k, then it is indeed awful. |

Is it just me or are players doing ALOT of unneccesary showing of their cards? Every big hand or bluff is seemingly shown (at least in these card player updates).
Are they players doing this for the reporters and cameras? Seems pretty foolish. |

Any details on hands he (Rizen) played? I see his chips are up by $1.2M, but no details.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] 12:57PM PDT John Lee pushes all-in from early position. Andrew Schreibman makes the call from late position and shows AJ. Lee is in trouble with A8. The board comes 776K10 and Lee is eliminated in 44th place. After the hand, Schreibman is up to $2,500,000. [/ QUOTE ]What was Lee's stack size? I don't see the benefit of open pushing in EP with only A8. [/ QUOTE ] He started with 805k, the second shortest stack at his table. [/ QUOTE ] What are the blinds? Even if they are 25K/50K/5K, this push seems like a bad play. [/ QUOTE ] Blinds are 15/30/5k but should be going up shortly. |

Brian Hansen Eliminated in 42nd Place ($247,399)
On a flop of 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] , Jamie Gold bets $300,000. Brian Hansen raises all-in for $1,900,000. Gold makes the call. Gold shows A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and Hansen is in trouble with 10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 10 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] . After the hand is shown, Michael O'Deh, who is rooting for Jamie Gold and Paul Wasicka, shouts out for the ten of diamonds. Gold is confused and says, "Why do you want the ten of diamonds?" Michael O'Deh then says, "No. Turn a diamond." The rail is laughing as the turn and river come 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and Hansen is eliminated in 42nd place. After the hand, Gold is up to $9,400,000. |

[ QUOTE ]
Do you really think thats a good play? Risk more than 1 million chips, with 15k/30k blinds, just to see if the button is stealing AND the SB restealing? [/ QUOTE ] There are two options in his spot. Fold, or move all in. When the raise is to 350K, he can't raise it to like 1M and then fold for 500K more. He risks 1.5M to win about 500K, and he's playing the hand essentially only for fold equity so moving in is the right way to do it. I think he'll fold the other two players in this hand way more than 1/4 of the time, so yeah: I think it's a good play. |
