actually there may be reason for the four hour thing at least...the minimum REM or rapid eye movement deep sleep that is refreshing to the body takes about a 3 hour cycle to occur...if you allow for some wind down and wake up time, your four hour period makes sense. the 10 hour length is what studies show teenagers really do need every night.

having classes before about 10 am is basically a waste of time for most students.
