What is a typical hourly rate for coaching? I'm a proven 1/2nl and 2/4nl successful player for a couple years online, and coaching someone who is starting at low probably 0.1/0.25 stakes. Thx

I'm setting up a new desktop and I'm wondering whether it there is any reason not to run one 30" 2560 x 1600 monitor as apposed to two 24"-27" 1620x1200s? I play 6 tables at the max.

30" don't have internal scalers which is bad if you want to ever watch HDDVD or Blu-Ray movies. I'd suggest 2 monitors as that looks more balla.

I've said it before but if you can really beat poker you can definitely make more money doing something else.

I'm playing cuz I like the challenge; I really want to f**king get better and go beat Aba.

bleh. im moving back down to 50NL. hopefully can prove to myself i can still win at poker.

my last 60K hands of 200NL im running at 1ptbb/100, my first 90K hands at 200L i ran at 6.66ptbb/100. i tried dropping back down to 100NL this month, and then drop 11buyins there. earlier in the month when i was running good i took a shot at 400NL for 5k hands and im running at 8ptbb/100 though.

i blame hud. ever since i got hud my results have MASSIVELY dropped. im still gonna carry on using it coz i refuse to believe extra information can ever be bad.

but im gonna play 20K hands of 50NL to see if i can still beat it. if i beat it after 20K hands, then ill play 20K hands of 100NL and see if i can beat it, and then get back to 200NL once i can prove to myself im still a winning player.

No offense, but I think you get way too fancy pre-flop. 4-betting T9o and then calling a 5-bet because you are "priced in" is not very good poker.

And this serves you even less well as you move down.

hmm, seems like Party slightly reduced the rake on smallish pots.

Edit : or maybe slightly increased, dunno...

I dont take offense to it at all. Infact i welcome the constructive criticism. I am here to learn, and have plenty to learn.

But if im 4betting 9To because i believe somebody will fold coz he is 3betting me light, dont i have to call the 5bet since all the regs will 5bet push with AK? And if AK is in his range then i have to call with 9T? Or am i misunderstanding something pretty basic?

Do you think its better to just 4bet push if im gonna get priced in? I dont see how it makes much difference if you 4bet/call or 4betpush...?

meh, yeah, i do the same as 4-bet/calling shoves with T9o i guess. its a high variance play, but if you can handle the swings then whatever. i've seen midnighttokr/carrot shove ai pf iwth stuff like JTo/KTo/A6o/etc

Doesn't mean its the best play. You have to understand the overall plan before making these types of plays. FWIW I think that 1/2 is crushable without getting out of line preflop. THe money is made because people are nits postflop and are easy to read.
