"the last call on Baron was a bad one but I don't think it has any effect on the outcome of the game"

so losing your best player, whos been playing out of his mind all series, and is unconscious from 3, for the most important possession of the game has no effect?

[/ QUOTE ]

when the Warriors got the ball back they were down 4 with 17 seconds left. Whether it was Baron Davis fouling there or someone else, the game was pretty much over.

[/ QUOTE ]

OK this is flat wrong. Watch more basketball.

[/ QUOTE ]

While the game was not pretty much over, it wasn't the reason they lost the game. First of all, it's Baron's own fault he got the foul. Second, if he didn't foul, someone else would have had to. At that point, they probably would have less than ten seconds left. Would BD have been able to get the ball and make a play? Who knows? What we do know is that it was his own fault that he was out of the game.

The game is far from over when you're down 4 with the ball with 17 seconds left. That part.

edit: BSF, yeah I know. I've been blaming GS's execution the whole time. My point is it's a BS argument to say "well they were down 4 with 17 seconds left so nothing really matters at that point anyway."

double edit: it's also wrong to blame B-Diddy for fouling out. Players aren't going to assume refs make phantom calls given the game situation. It's not like no one has ever gone for a steal before in that situation.

. If you make a wild swipe at the ball with less than 24 seconds remaining when you're behind, the ref's going to assume it's an intentional foul.

[/ QUOTE ]

watch the play again and then try to say he "made a wild swipe at the ball" while keeping a straight face. that would be pretty hard to do imo.

[ QUOTE ]
It was by no means a bad call, and despite what you may believe, it didn't change the game much. According to 82games.com, when Baron Davis was at his absolute peak during the playoffs this year, he was 15.4 points better than a replacement player would be over 48 minutes. So how much does missing 20 seconds cost his team? 0.11 points.

[/ QUOTE ]

as someone who is trained in statistics, this is just a blatant misinterpretation of how statistics work.

yeah PITTM, except when the game is at Oracle and the backcourt players are absolutely SWARMING Dirk and Terry, which will usually result in a couple reach in fouls, and the refs just let them play. And then you post about how biased the refs are for DAL in ORACLE because, oh my, a couple reach ins get called in the 3rd. OMG RIGGED

i know youre trying to be funny here, but i actually thought game 3 was terribly officiated in dallas' favor and we still absolutely crushed them. i know youre used to us getting every single ticky tack foul called on us, but i would prefer the officiating be the same both ways.

i guess its a lot easier to get calls when you fall over everytime someone touches you. we need to get lessons from dirk, devin harris(holy lol at that flop last night) and the italian soccer team and then we can get calls on a dallas-like level.

it was devin harris who flopped right? i just wanna make sure im not constantly making fun of him for years if it wasnt him.

What do you think GS's win expectancy is with 17s left, down by 4 points - With Bd? Without?

Here's something to save you some time. The Mav's lineup at the time:
Dirk - 90.4% FT
Stack - 84.7%
Harris - 82.4%
Howard - 82.7%
George - 75.0%

we know you thought it was terribly officiated. That's my point. It wasn't. Not by a longshot.
