ama, being exploitable should not be a worry at micro/ssnl. if you are worried about it then you are sitting at the wrong tables. 1k hands is nothing. 50k hands is nothing. [/ QUOTE ] agree for uNL, totally disagree for 100nl+ |

Just watched a Brian Townsend video. He was 2 tabling 5/10NL.
Jesus, he made absolute mincemeat of the poor schmucks he was sitting with. Quite incredible to watch. Some thoughts: > His game is simplicity personified. Bet good hands, fold bad ones, play position well, ???, profit. Scarily basic stuff. > Almost all his winnings in the session came from basic value plays with good hands. Not bluffing, not making moves, not making hero calls. Just simple value plays. > In fact, he constantly implies that he believes getting value with the best hand to be more important than just about any other element in poker. This may seem self-evident, but I think a lot of us get caught up with 3betting ranges, big calls/bluffs/laydowns, marginal spots etc. Watching Townsend makes this stuff seems so much less important than simply getting paid when you have a hand. > I think double-barreling was as close as he came to "making a move". Otherwise, it was pretty much vanilla-white. > His 3b range didn't look a whole lot wider than us donks. > He called surprisingly often pre. > He gives up pretty quickly to resistance. > He doesn't piss around in small pots. > Finally, he definitely runs good lol. |

Run hot @ $100nl, build bankroll back up to $4400. Take shot at $200nl for the 2nd time. Move back down. Rinse, repeat?
