David Chase has said that this season takes place in real time, meaning nearly two years has passed on the show since the season five finale.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It seems the only reason the Vito giving [censored] clip in the 'Previously seen on the Sopr...' was for that hotdog/breadstick gag. [/ QUOTE ] The hotdog/breadstick gag, thus far, seems to be the only reason they made Vito give that guy head in the first place. [/ QUOTE ] Also adds potential conflict between Meadow and Fin (Vin?). [/ QUOTE ] gives finn a bigger reason to marry meadow. |

RE: The "that was the last episode" theory Makes a lot of sense to me. Uncle Jun has deteriorated enormously, I was wondering how that happened so fast. As for the trial, don't those things take forever to start? And when did Tony's other sister come back to Jersey? [/ QUOTE ] I think it's very possible that this is the "last episode shown first". However, in previous seasons, there has usually been at least a year that has elapsed in the storylines between seasons, so the fact that at least a year has passed before the start of this season shouldn't really mean anything. I'll be disappointed if that was the final episode, though. Part of what makes the Sopranos interesting is trying to figure out who will get whacked next. However, if last night was the last episode, every character that we saw will survive the season. Btw...speaking of which, was Paulie Walnuts in last night's episode? I don't remember seeing him. |

They didn't spend 15 minutes on AJ's grades, bummer. That brutal "poem" more than makes up for it though.

As I was typing my last post I was trying to remember seeing him but wasn't sure if I had or not. Yeah, my guess would be Paulie becoming a rat, too. He's always felt slighted by Tony, and almost joined up with Johnny Sack the last time he got out of prison. He also is the most like to have a huge prison sentence awaiting him if he gets busted again, as he's already been in prison numerous times before. |

This makes sense for a lot of reasons. 1) Christopher is a captain? When did that happen? You'd think after the problems he and Tony had in season 5, they would develop that rather than just drop it in as a throwaway line. He has been a cappo for quite some time now. A Cappo is a team captain. Ralf was a Cappo for example. 90% of Tony’s crew is actually Cappos, the solders have smaller parts 2) Vito is Tony's #1 man? There would be some interesting back story with Paulie leading up to that. Vito is part of Jackie Aprile's crew, he is a family member of his and the former head of a construction company which his family owns. When Jackie was killed the crew he founded when getting out of jail was handed to 3 others, including Ralf C and Tony B (third guy died, I think it was natural causes, I forgot). Vito moved up the ladder to Cappo very fast even though his time in the Soprano family was very short because there was a power-vacuum. He is not Tony's right hand man, in fact I think we will see that Vito still gets treated like an underling as the season progresses. Vito obviously has aspirations, and I think Fin may become a part of his stepping ladder. 3) Suddenly the food at Vesuvio sucks? Again, just laying that on us with no explanation seems lame unless this episode is the end. The food doesn't suck, it was a metaphor for how change is needed. The crew do the same things day in and day out, remember Chris saying he doesn't need a menu, he can recite it from memory? [/ QUOTE ] Bolded responses above. Additionally remember the kid whose head was bashed in by Phil Leotardo last season while he was hunting for Tony B? Did you notice that his scars had healed (which was weird considering how badly he was hurt)? He has nerve damage according to Wikki. Last season he was a solder for Chris, now he is drinking coffee with the crew outside the pork store. I think he was made, he may now be a captain as well as a way of saying thanks for his loyal service. Is it obvious I like this show a lot? I grew up on Long Island surrounded by the children of mobsters, this show is very real. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Don't you remember Pie o'Mine? The portrait of Tony on his wall? Pauly is loyal only to himself, but ratting would break his loyalty to his own soul. TT [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

Re: the food at Artie's restaurant...I'm not sure if its 100% a metaphor...as Carmela mentioned earlier in the show that the veal sucked, too. Maybe Artie has lost his touch.
