Dear Bison,

Is that you in your avatar? If so, why do you look sad ?

I love what I do, but my job is very demanding -- to the tune of some 60-70 hour weeks on average. I am pretty well compensated and am on track for a promotion in about 18 months that will push my income into (what I consider) the stratosphere. I also recently became a dad and want to be there for my son. What are some of the things I should consider in deciding whether to keep on my current path or do something else?

Dear Elliot,

You love what you do, but your job takes a lot of time and effort and your son is now and your marriage is now.

The question I have, since you like your job, is what benefit you'll get out of this promotion. Will it give you the chance to work less? Will you be significantly better off financially? Will it be even more interesting?

Because you're looking at 2 year commitment to a 60-70 hour work week in order to get a position (not guaranteed) that may have the same or even more obligations.

Talk with your wife about what kind of husband and father you want to be, then look at what you need to be satisfied in your work. Then figure out if the investment is worth it.

I'm not being cute when I say that your kid and your wife are the here and now and you only get to enjoy this time with them once.

How many hands do you play per month?

Hands since Jan 1? About 2000 total. Since last year this time? About 15000 total. Or, a little over 2 hours a month.

Is it a douchebag move to offer $100 to the folks at Cheesecake Factory in exchange for them making two softball sized cream puffs, one of your and one for your dashing friend Dids?

Dear Dids,

No, it's a question that if properly asked, will at least entertain the staff for a while.

After being told that they can't, because they don't make their desserts on site, is it really retarded that they're called Cheesecake FACTORY?

No. See also: Pottery Barn.

I have been going through a very stressful period in my life recently. I'm kind of ashamed to admit it, but to cope with the stress I've started smoking a little bit. I find it to be oddly calming. What is a healthier way for me to cope with my stress? Most, but not all, of it is job-related.

Ideally, I'd like an activity that provides a similar break in my day but that isn't so addictive and unhealthy.

Dear GME,

However difficult it is to believe, the proper answer is to buy a kite and fly it for 15 minutes a day in the afternoon.

Trust me.

Would a jury really convict a fine, upstanding young man like myself if I murdered a particular douchebag in a fit of rage?

Dear madtown,

Yes.

What, in your opinion, is the most bittersweet song in existence?

'How Do You Speak To An Angel?' by Etta James.

I'm having trouble finding a poker dealer job. I have 2 years of experience in a private poker room, and can't seem to find interviews for jobs on the Strip without previous experience working on the Strip. How do I break into the business?

Dear nation,

Can you run any other games? My brain tells me that it may be easier to get a poker dealing job at Casino X if you are willing to run wheel of fortune first. I may be totally wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, I have no experience dealing any other games aside from all forms of poker. How should I attack the poker dealer job market?

1. What are you thoughts on Starbucks and how women seem to go nuts when you mention it?

I don't drink coffee. I think most people are more desperate for a break from the drudgery of their jobs than they are for Starbucks itself.

2. I was watching porn the other day and I noticed how the guy in the movie was able to make his money shot go really far and it seemed to be quite a bit. How can I master this action?

Dude, the last thing most girls want is more come travelling even further across their rooms/sheets/torsos.
