As a confident Christian, I hope this thread dies soon.

I agree 100%. I'm really getting sick & tired of people making fun of something I believe in very strongly.

wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

edit: i believe flip flops and board shorts should be worn year round, yet when i walk around campus in the rain in them and get made fun of, do i cry to them and tell them i'm sick and tired of being made fun of for something i believe in very strongly? no. i suck it up and i walk to class.

[/ QUOTE ]

since i am not extremely religious by any means, I do not personally care. However, if other people believe strongly in something, I think disagreeing is fine but straight up calling it stupid is ignorant imo. In the same league as people calling Middle Eastern people terrorists, just dumb.

dude, my face is still pressed against the monitor but nothing's happening. maybe he didn't turn the blender on?

I wasn't trying to "prove" who has more joy, or who divorces or goes to prison more. I'm simply wondering why it's so offensive and rage inciting to be approached by a Christian.

[/ QUOTE ]

because it is offensive when people insist that they are right and you are wrong.

to me, it's not so much that they think they're right and i'm wrong. i can certainly handle a disagreement or accept that i'm not always correct (hard as it may be). it's more the idea that they think they know something that i don't. like they have this awesome secret that they're just dying to share withe the world.

and if i don't listen to the secret i'll will burn for eternity.

that's more what annoys me i guess.

I think I understand what you’re saying. But, if you had an “awesome secret” (that’s really not a secret) that you held to be more valuable than anything, wouldn’t you want to share it with people? And, if you thought someone was in danger of burning for eternity, wouldn’t you try to help save them from that?
