Devo
I think you've handled this situation terrible. First off, you shouldn't have posted the blog. This could have been swept under the carpet. Need to know basis. The internet didn't need to know. Now that you've posted it and aired your views, you're at the realm of public opinion. As much as we think we are right, there will always be people who disagree. In your case, many people think you were out-of-order. You were. Granted you were celebrating, but perhaps you should have jumped in a car, got someone to else to drive, and sink some beers en-route to a few days at the lake. Took stock and planned your next charge at a bracelet. I think it would have done wonders for you. You love the lake and thats where you should have celebrated, not playing 1-3 drunken poker at the Wynn. In addition, regardless of your view that your blog is a volunteer one, you are still a face on one of the poker sites. You became a representative of that site, no matter if you receive a commission from the site or not. Mason made some very good points and much can be gained by re-reading them and attempting to adhere to. This is all a shame, as people tend to remember bad things over good, so don't be surprised if you're called 'The guy who finished 2nd, cashed 140K' with a few extra bits added to the end. One thinks you should take stock, think about what poker means for you, and if it includes bracelets or wpt titles, attempt to mature-up and let your play do the talking, you don't need to be having alcohol fuelled discussions with a person who is at a higher authority level than yourself. Seledom does it work out in your favor. Good luck for the rest of the series, maybe you can let your play do some talking by going deep, cashing more, and possibly winning a bracelet. Goto the lake next time. tict0ctoe |

[/ QUOTE ] Yes, let's just all ignore any possible customer service issues and be sure to "sweep them under the carpet" and keep things on a need to know basis. What a crock. The more transparent people are with their experiences, both good and bad, the better. |

I agree and Clark's opinion on Katharine has me viewing Maverick's situation in a bit of a different light. Although I already conceeded that she seemed to be over the line.
Don't understand tict0c's suggestion that he go to a lake to celebrate. I don't think there's anything wrong with partying IN Vegas for crying out loud. The city was practically built for that. But at a 1/3 table at the Wynn obviously there are some lines less appropriate to be crossed. |

I understand that Vegas is a party town and is a great place to enjoy such celebrations, but it also offers up the potential for things to get out of hand.
My suggestion at the lake was thinking it might be better to take yourself away for a day or two, away from it all, take stock, and think through the next step towards wristwear. Calmer environment can sometimes do wonders for the mind. |

This whole thing reminds me of ZeeJustin.
It's the "I was wrong...but it really was their fault" that rubs everyone the wrong way. You really should never have brought this up publicly, unless it was offered as an apology to those involved. Since you did, when you sobered up you should have come back with an "I was wrong, period, end of story." That would have opened the door for everyone to just sweep it under the rug as a kid who made a nice score and did one dumb thing out of euphoria. Instead it's got people thinkin, maybe this kid's just a douche. |

all I know is that if I hit some $160k score the chances of me immediately heading off to a lake is about zero.
Chances I immediately head to a low-stakes NL game are pretty low too but it's within the realm of possibility I guess. |

I've managed poker rooms. You might have been able to continue playing if you just kept playing a little quieter, but once you yell at the whole room:
I would have tossed you too. Why? Because you were drunk. You were loud, you were not listening to her either........and you take any respect and ability to run the room away if she lets you yell and make a scene and does not toss you. By the way, just because nobody objected when you asked, does not mean they were not happy to see you go. And, hey, congrats on your win. Way to go. Dogmeat [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |
