Top 5 greatest American bands of all time

I have to say the early Joe Ely Band, live. I am prejudiced because I was the manager. However, varied publications including Melody Maker in England said just that! A reviewer for Melody Maker said they were the best band in the world in 1978. The Clash selected them to tour with in England and the States. The Clash came to Lubbock to play with the Joe Ely Band.

This is a pretty freakin good list.

Five years ago, I would have dismissed it out of hand because of the appearance of the Eagles.

I have somehow managed to reverse myself on this count.

If they deserve to be on the list for In God we Trust, Inc., Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables, and Plastic Surgery Disasters, they deserve to be removed from the list for literally every other release.

Most notably, Frankenchrist and Bedtime For Democracy are abysmally bad.
