Samoleus, forget what I said before. I think you should bail from this place and find a few people on/around your level to discuss strategy with. It's driving me mad just reading this damn thread and it has nothing to do with me. I apologize for my advice before and take it back lol. This place is like a damn clique. Group think. Unproductive nonsense and bickering. Childish pissing contests. I haven't even made it to high stakes yet and I am contemplating putting half the forum on ingore hahaa.

Hi I am new here but have a couple points:

1: Sam is very good(but exploitable as I am sure we all are)
2: I think that number is not possible for a fulltime pro at those levels
3:I think you are good enough to quit your job and just buy the damn insurance.
4:Poker full time is boring(I quit my main job but if i didnt have alot of other stuff going on i would go crazy)
5:Best of luck to you Sam you seem like a fine fellow and a challenging opponent

Sam,

You would be wise to not respond to any more posts regarding your winrate. If your true intention is to talk about lag play, turning pro, and the legality of poker, then ignore any post that does not relate to those three topics. Start a new thread (since your first two have become inundated with trash posts) and dont once mention winrates. The more you defend yourself, the more you make you winnings an issue. You have a lot to offer this forum. I hope you continue posting about what's important to *you*.

Respectfully,
-Grant

Default Too many jealous, stubborn 2+2ers ruin it for everyone...

When I started setting goals for my poker game for 2006, one of my goals was to make a million dollars playing NL 5/10 which I think is easily achievable. I made a conservative goal that I felt I would be able to reach. $2.5 million at 10/20, while a bit more difficult is still an achievable number. I believe that it's only possible with a unorthodox style of play.
I am a student so I'm not able to devote as much time to playing poker as I'd like (maybe an average of 4-5 hours a day) but my winrate is much higher than the "high end" of the winrates proposed here (5 PTBB/100). This is with me playing 4+ tables at once. I did it by playing in a LAG style similar to OP's. While it isn't the "2+2 way", by using great postflop skills to read hands, you're able to take pots that aren't yours and in turn win big pots against players (esp. fish). I don't think I've mastered the game by any means and I like to consider myself a "student of the game." While it is easy to be skeptical, I think that it's much more beneficial to listen to everyone even if their ideas are different/unfamiliar.

KKF, personally, I remember you posting your PT stats and your longterm 3.x BB/100 winrate. Because you think you're one of the greatest players around, you might think that no one can multitable and beat that winrate so you dismiss their claims as false and call them out for their BS. I play 5/10 NL and 10/20 NL (on FullTilt, Party, UB, PokerRoom) and if you PM me your name, I'll tell you whether I've played against you before and you can verify my claims. I think you'd do yourself and other 2+2ers a big favor by having a more opened mind.

And I can't believe some of you would even think of using the fact Samolous for donating $2 million to cancer research against him. It is a powerful/common disease and hopefully your relatives won't be as unfortunate as his is. This is truly sad to read.

Samoleus, I'm younger than you are (about to graduate from college) and I'm going to throw away my engineering degree as well so your thread was very interesting reading material for me. I would understand it if you didn't post on 2+2 anymore because of the haters; however, I'm sure there are some people (I for 1) that believe your claim of 5 million in the past two years. You'd be a great asset to the forums. I'll PM you for your AOL SN if you ever want to chat it up.

Respect.

Who cares how much you earned? Here's the response to your original post:

1) Quit your day job.
2) Be more frugal.
3) Continue to be good to your loved ones.
4) Play more poker.
5) Download pokertracker.
6) Continue to post here (or somewhere).
7) Stake me (this point trumps #2).

The degree to which one should heed your advice is dependent upon how badly you are crushing these games. If most winning players earn roughly the same amount by employing a variety of playing styles, then one might as well play in way which best suits his temperment.

But if it turns out that your playing style is overwhelmingly more profitable, then there are posters here who would do well to completely reevaluate their approach to these games. How can you not see this?
