WSEX GM,

I like the recent addition of colours to player notes. But it got me thinking.

What would *really* be nice would be if I could change the colours of the player icons themselves, and if they would stay that colour every time I subsequently saw them (e.g. green for LP, red for TAG, etc.).

I mean, if you won't allow HUDs, wouldn't this be a fair compromise, as my colour selections would be based on my own observations and not on datamining?

How do you suspect they can disable their use? They aren't actively scanning your computer like party does. They currently have no way to know what programs are currently running. When you block hand histories that slowed things down. I think lack of hand histories help make collusion detection much more difficult and I find more and more that to be a bigger problem on all sites. I personally wish nobody could use tracker programs, but collusion cost players more than tracker programs which can be used regardless of what wsex does. Anything they can come up with now will only be matter of time before smart people figure ways around it.

If they disable the full text output of the hand in the chat window, the current name grabbing programs are rendered useless... Maybe someone can figure a way to get around that, I don't know.

I am not making the argument one way or another, I am just saying that if they are going to forbid them, they should enforce it, if possible. If it's not possible, then put the names back in the hand histories so that it's a level playing field. Because as it stands now, those that purchase the namegrabber program and run huds 'illegally' have an unfair advantage.

A quick fix to the name grabber issue is just removing the dealer everything option in chat. This would make the program useless, if WSEX is actually committed to this as they say the upgrade would take any programmer about 5 minutes.

At low limits the 20% rake would be 40% as they rake so much at WPEX. At that point it's no more worth playing.

Hi everyone,

Appreciate all of the comments. They are all noted and taken into consideration. We have a release coming out on Monday. It will either be installed on Monday morning or late Monday night.

It will include:

chat repair so the chat doesn't bounce to the bottom when you are reading something higher,

some keyboard shortcuts,

a reduction in the clickable area to sit out next hand, in case that was causing some people to inadvertantly sit out,

and a few other minor enhancements. I think most of you will be pleased.

We will also be activating a new game server which should help with speed and performance if anyone is still having any issues.

The problems mentioned in this thread have been moved up to the next release in February. Hopefully, from that point on, we will be purely looking at features and enhancements.

I am looking into affiliate opportunities.

Keep the suggestions coming please.

One question: Will the upcoming release do anything to prevent the name grabber program used to enable HUDs on WPEX? I guarantee you nobody ever uses Dealer Chat set on Everything except for that purpose, so removing that option would do the trick.

Fred...I don't think features are the main concern to most here. The main concern is the lack of growth in traffic. Care to address for everyone why no advertising? What about affiliates to bring in traffic or anything wsex is doing to increase traffic. A reliable system is great and feature is fine, but without traffic nobody will get to use it.
