On one hand, Degen you sound like kind of a tool in this thread.

On the other hand, Georgia Ave contributing in a thread regarding women is the super LOL.

See what you have unleashed. Never ever speak of "ideal woman" again.

I will take it a step further and say that many American women may even want to treat their man like this, or at least move in that direction, but do not for fear of retaliation from their peer group.

[/ QUOTE ]

you are VERY wrong on that one.

[/ QUOTE ]

i've spoken to some women who agree with what i said. i didn't say all, i said many. you don't think there are women in america who go career, independence etc for societal reasons? and they really just want to be a traditional woman?

[/ QUOTE ]

Id love to know what women youve spoken to, because they definitely arent a accurate representation of most american women. So they were either from southern utah, or apparently thai.

There is also a huge difference between forgoing a career to raise a family and the kind of woman who gets off on keeping a tidy home and "cooking his meals". That part is bolded because it is a very important distinction between the kind of women you are trying to justify your remarks about, and the kind of woman you actually want and mean in your earlier statement.

Both my grandmother and my mom were fulltime house wifes, and I have more than one friend who has chosen to stay at home and raise a family instead of working, every single one of them would be insulted by your statement.

[/ QUOTE ]

jeez, you guys are sensetive. is the fact that this thread was started by a woman bringing out some kind of chivalry here?

stop being such a nit. everybody knows what i am getting at.

i said 'many' and 'move in that direction'

i'm just saying that american culture has engrained in women that they should not be in the home and they they should be independent and equal and strong. i think that there are women who are not as gung ho on these traits as the tide of our culture is pushing them to be.

I NEVER SAID what is right or what is wrong or where my status is in regards to random women i have never met. i said what i prefer, that is all. chill.

[/ QUOTE ]

I never said you were wrong to want what you want. Like I said earlier, if thats what someone wants, ive got no problem with it.

Im just letting you know you are wrong in your assesment that "many" american women want that. Just trying to save you from making the same foolish remark in the future.

A pet is one I have heard before, and though I don't like that connotation, it is quite similar. Yes, I would like a woman who is more like a pet than like an equal.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is the remark that I'm reacting to here. In your mind a man who is working > a woman who is not. I'm not sure what "qualifiers" I'm missing out on, it seems pretty cut and dried to me.

Although I dont agree w/ what Degan has to say, I'll defend to my death his right to say it.

As long as the women he finds WANTS to be the way he describes, I see no problem with it. I personally think it's [censored], but hey...to each his own. So long as the other person isnt doing that against their will or being treated poorly.

Degen,
I don't think anything you've said in this thread is offensive. Everyone really has to chill out a little. Not everyone's views are pc and that's fine.

Also, everyone should stop bashing degen so he can do more important things, like continue posting in his thailand thread.

In my mind, I'd prefer a woman who is not working to one that is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Degen, I'm not arguing against this. You want your woman not to work fine, there a lot of men who think this way. You don't want to consider her an equal, that I don't agree with. Why can't your ideal woman still be your equal?
