RDH,
The things I like about Austin are -hip music scene, and general culture scene -easy to walk / bike around -lots and lots of beautiful college-aged women -great scenery / countryside ([img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hill Country) -nice weather, if you don't mind heat Houston has basically none of these. It's ugly, polluted, humid, corporate, concrete, with no nature or mass transporation, and as far as the college girls go, I've been telling people my school motto is "Rice University: Where a 6 Can Be a 10." Daryn, I've been thinking about doing the same thing whether or not I move to another city. I pretty much decided I wanted the option not to see anybody that day if I didn't want to. |

That is awesome man. What is the travel route? You guys going to detour through Seattle/Portland on the way at all? My wife and her sister got in a car accident on Sunday. They were at a stop sign, waiting to turn left on a busy street, when a kid getting a driver's lesson took too wide of a right turn and hit them head on. Deployed the airbags in my sister-in-law's car and everything. They're both OK, but spending much of the day at the hospital sucks. The damaged car still drove well enough to get it back to my house for now (go Honda!). We look quite white trash with a beat up Accord with two deployed airbags parked in front of our place. The other driver was mortified, poor kid. He'll probably not drive for a while. |

Also open to other suggestions regarding a new city. [/ QUOTE ] Don't move to San Diego. It just isn't as great as you expect. Denver is supposed to be nice, but NYC is the best choice. |

1. Recently joined PokerXFactor. Reading Harrington 2 and watching Sheets play has really opened my eyes about bubble and short handed play in tournaments. Amazing how many donkeys there are at the higher buyins.
2. Hugo Chavez is really cruising for a bruising. I would love to wipe that smirk off of his face. 3. Another sign that the apocalypse is near. Wolf Blitzer's interview with my avatar. 4. Winter is on the way, and it's been cold and rainy here for about a week. Kind of depressing. 5. Many people discover god/religion as they get up to my age or older. I'm just becoming more and more annoyed with the whole concept. 6. Going to Europe to visit family for Christmas. Can't wait. Resting my liver for the inevitable onslaught. 7. Our sports networks allready have me sick of hockey, and the season hasn't even started yet. |

nath,
I can't speak for Denver, but you should wait for one of those cheap round-trip flights to Nashville and take a weekend to visit, if you're serious about leaving Houston. Nashville may be a little smaller than you're expecting, and it sounds like you'd be happy in Austin, but if you've got time and money, it doesn't hurt to check out the options. No state income tax, but the sales tax is a bitch. |
