Yes, this is exactly what I'm talking about. Everyone knows about 7 days and such, but what people don't know is that it's also written in the Bible that for God, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. The seven days is just because seven is God's number, and God does things in sevens. The author of that passage wasn't actually stating that God took literally seven days as we know them to make the universe.

I'm currently working my way through Misquoting Jesus; it's a literary criticism of the bible, as we now have it, based on the errors, omissions and edits that were made to it along the way by scribes (among others).

Unfortunately, it reads like an eigth-grade word-length essay assignment ("The Periodic Table is a listing of all known elements, which, taken together, make up the Periodic Table. The first element listed, and I say first because it occupies the first position on the Periodic Table, with the other elements following, is Hydrogen; Hydrogen, therefore, is the first element listed on the Periodic Table." etc), but I think it's a pretty good read for anybody that's going to be quoting the Bible to people, its cultural and temporal displacements aside.

Oh, well, hello. You doing searches for yourself, or do you still occasionally read this forum?

[/ QUOTE ]
Gotta keep up on the gossip, dude.
+evan -relevan -evang -evans -evanc -castlevania -"evan williams" -evanjc

[ QUOTE ]
My disagreements with you as a mod were largely around your insistance on overriding other mods yourself rather than discussing things and working them out.

[/ QUOTE ]
Like unbanning AJo Go All In when he got banned for doing nothing? Or like telling Dynasty that he didn't have any idea what he was doing or what the people in his forum wanted way before kipin ever started anything? Or like temp banning someone 5 times to force 5 retarded PMs for mods after posting several times about getting those PMs every time someone was unbanned, and getting absoltely no acknowledgement from Mat, Mason or Chuck? I haven't read the Mod Forum recently enough to remember if you were one of those Lloyd-esque mods that acted like we were working for the Department of Defense, but I can't really see otherwise disagreeing with any of that.

[ QUOTE ]
As for other posters, well, I basically have three categories for people here:

1. People I like
2. People that don't really bother me
3. People that get banned (sometimes repeatedly) by myself, [censored], or someone else.

As for Clark, well, I don't actually see him in the sports forum much, where he posts a fair bit, too, but he's not as entertaining or informative in OOT as many other posters I enjoy reading.

[/ QUOTE ]
Like I said before, it baffles me that you can actually feel this way. "Tony Palodino seems like a pretty unsavory character, and, really, Clarkmeister rarely contributes anything useful beyond statments of his own self-worth." I really can't get over how alarmingly uninformed (the KINDEST possible word I could think of) that statement is.

I had plenty of disagreements with Evan, but he's a decent poster, just a poor mod.

What didn't you like about my modding?

Edit: I just read the rest of that post and found this, "Clarkmeister rarely contributes anything useful beyond statments of his own self-worth." You've got to be kidding. Honestly, I can't imagine how we could not have plenty of disagreements with opinions like that.

EVAN

sup =P.

I hate when people say "sup." How the hell am I supposed to answer that, especially on a forum.

I guess I'll give it a shot though...

Not much, you?

Your search is pretty funny, although I think you might be able to accomplish the same thing with just +"evan"

As for the unbannings, sure, they weren't justified. But I guess I just prefer to work things out diplomatically, and since it the person should rightly be unbanned, there won't be much of an issue in talking it out. Honestly, I think my wording about you in this was poor, and I don't like talking badly about people in general, whether or not they find it. I probably should have said nothing in response to that question.

I stand by my statements about Tony, however. You have met him in person and have a different perspective than I do. And while I disagreed with Elaine as much as the next guy, the degree to which he went out of his way to make hateful comments to her, to me, seemed beyond excessive. Elaine stated that she wouldn't feel safe at any event Tony attended, and I think that her trepidation has some merit. Addtionally, smashing some girl's cell phone on the subway, no matter how obnoxious she's being, is completely out of line, no matter what OOT says. If this story was made up, or his statements about Elaine were all part of some elaborate joke that I missed, and they're currently chatting coridally over a cup of coffee, I'm willing to be wrong. It's easy to misinterpret things online.

Edit: And more on Clark, I love reading his posts in the archives. There's no denying that he's posted some outstanding things in the past.

I don't mind people talking bad about me, but I think it's reasonable to ask for an explanation. Grouping me and nos1nos2 in the same answer to the same question was pretty unexpected, I just wanted to know why. When you told me why I wanted a more specific reason, so I cited things that I know peopel disagreed with but were completely reasonable imo. Banning people like AJo and jason_t are not issues that need to be worked out "diplomatically" as far as I'm concerned.

My post had nothing to do with your feelings on Tony. If you honestly feel that way about Clark then I don't understand how his name even entered the realm of possibilities for the answer to that question.

If Angelina Jolie and you were stuck on a desert island and after a couple months she decides that you'll do in a pinch. She is very tan and lost all her clothing but a sarong and must wear wear a cocoanut bra(this island only has very small cocoanuts). She throws herself at you...What do you do?

Well, it comes from a minor bad post in OOT. I've already created enough hubub about disclosing moderatorly things in this thread already, so I may abstain from disclosing more. He could probably petition [censored] to have it removed if he wanted to.
