Official August thread: General Discussion, Goals, Winrates, etc

Goals:To play 40-60k hands, study poker 15 hours a week, and make a minimum of 12k at 400NL.

so i start august. i sit down play 4 3-6nl tables. pick up $350. it'll do. i go play golf. good fun. i go load up 4 5-10nl tables. wtf wtf wtf. why whenever i take a shot do i always get bent over and a pool cue penetrated into me.

effective stacks $500. i have raised pf last two hands with 3 limpers to $60-$70 with AQ and QK to isolate this fish. both times he calls, both times i miss, both times i check-fold to his pot bet. now i pick up AA. again i make a decent raise to $60. i have a stack of $500. fish calls. awesome. as does this other guy. flop comes 2 5 K. fish bets $100. guy calls. i raise to $325 leaving myself $100 back. fish calls. guy pushes for $100 more. i call as does fish. fish shows 5 7, guy shows 5 5. ffs. ffffffffffs. he hit a 1 outer on the flop. then on another table i my opponent has $400. he raises to $30. i with AK in SB reraise to $120. he calls. flop comes 10 J K. he has JK. bang goes my stack.

end out $1000 down.

aaaaaarrrgghhhhhh. when will i ever end this breakeven spell.

Goddamn it 3/6NL is soooo easy. I still can't figure out why party 5/10 is so impossible to beat. I mean I am a big winner on the other 5/10 games across the internet. Stupid Party, rigged.

I guess I am up 1 buyin at NL 200 for August but I ruined a great July (in which I hardly played any hands) by losing 3 buyins right at the last few hours of the month.

No monetary goal. Just play 50,000 hands for the month and hopefully move up to 2-4 NL.
