[ QUOTE ]
Also, can you name the last time a home team won games 5 and 6 only to lose game 7? [/ QUOTE ] It happened to the Spurs last year, but I think that's different to the Mavs psyche because they were missing Terry for game 6. Anyway, this might have been the worst way for the Warriors to lose. They had them out, just like the Mavs had the Heat last year. All they really need to do though is somehow block this game from their memory and they really should be the favorites in game 6. I retract my previous %'s though based on how this game went from 70/5 to 60/15. |

Poofler,
[ QUOTE ] Not quite as lol as Devin Harris falling back like he got hit by the semi truck that is Barnes walking at half court. [/ QUOTE ] Well Harris didn't act like he was out for the series so he has that going for him. What he doesn't have going for him is that with each passing game he is becoming more and more like the Manu flop...and that is a nightmare. |

Just thought I'd add the same little note into this as I did in the other thread.
ESPN Radio here in Dallas is saying JRich got in an altercation with a fan after the game. Video evidence is being packaged and sent to the nba office. Take that for what it's worth. |

This is what I said about the JRich incident in the other thread:
1. If the fan pushed him it is the arena's fault IMO. He shouldn't get suspended if fans are pushing him, he is just protecting himself and that would be crap if you ask me. If that were the case the stadium has to do a better job of controlling situations. 2. If JRich just pushed a fan for no reason then thats messed up and something should happen. I think there is like a .0000000000000001% chance that is the likely scenario. JRich seems like a chill dude. If anyone seems like they would do something like it would be Jackson. I just don't see it happening like this. 3. If JRich gets suspended for any amount of this series that would suck b/c we have a great series going and a big reason is b/c of the great players and he is one of them. |

If JRich gets suspended because of this I'm declaring a fatwa on Dallas.

If this holds up I change my answer to 30%/5%. Dangit, I got a hundo on GS at +1200, I thought it would pay for all my Denver losses |

[ QUOTE ] when I saw that I wished the ref would've just T'd up Harris on account of being such a giant clam. [/ QUOTE ] It would have been justified. Harris's flopping pisses me off because a) it's a bitch move and b) it never works anyway. [/ QUOTE ] YOU SAID YOU WERE DONE WATCHING/POSTING ABOUT THE NBA TWO HOURS AGO AND YET HERE YOU ARE. Anyway, ![]() KEY: Pujols = Dallas Ball = last two minutes of game 5 Lidge's career = Golden State's season |

Also, I watched this game with what I thought was a pretty unjaundiced eye, and by no means did I think that the reffing was unfair or biased at all. A couple of calls down the stretch were "questionable", not "terrible". Dallas won because of what's already been said: Dirk woke up down the stretch and GS started playing prevent offense.
At the start of the night I was torn, but when GS turned a 21 point deficit into a 9-point lead, I clearly wanted them to close it out. Such a sick run on the road. Anyway, as a visiting coach/player/fan, you gotta be suspect when you see Bernie Fryer is the ref. Highest home team winning % all-time for refs and I can remember at least a couple horrendous last minute calls he made in favor of the home team. I guess he likes to see the fans cheer and thinks they're cheering at/for him or something. But I didn't see anything too egregious tonight. |

Huh?, Your post could actually be contradictory and it actually could make a good thread if GS goes on to win this thing. Is it a choke/collapse by the Mavs or not? You say it is the greatest choke in NBA history and I just typed this to JoA--"Before tonight the Mavs were down 3 games to 1 to an 8 seed and on the verge of the biggest collapse in NBA history and lost a game 4 in which they led 40 of the 48 minutes" so yea I am definitely understanding your point of view so don't think I am not with you. The thing that is contradictory in it all though is before tonight is GS had won 8 out of their last 9 against Dallas and how many before that? The record is crazy against Dallas. This is at a point where you have to stop talking about GS as an 8 seed when playing Dallas b/c it isn't like Orlando upsetting Detroit, that would be an all-time collapse b/c there isn't a history of beating Detroit--it would have come out of nowhere. This was somewhat predicted, though not completely expected, I mean everyone thought Mavs would win the series (I am not saying it is over!) but nobody w/ any insight thought it would be a walk in the park Kazansky. I even said it would be 6 grueling games (eh hoping now it will be 7!). My point is that GS has had Dallas' number, and has a history of beating Dallas...does that make it a collapse? You also have to look at how everything fell into place, GS didn't have their team but for maybe a month and a half this year, they aren't an 8 seed, it was like when the 8 seed Knicks went to the Finals in the strike year, that wasn't an 8 seed, that team was hurt for the first part of the year and sneaked into the playoffs healthy and hungry. I think if Dallas had the Lakers or Clippers in the 8 seed that it would be a collapse but the Warriors is worth questioning. Thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] I think what your kind of debating in a way is what kind of team is Dallas? Are they a great team or just a very good one? I know GS is not your normal #8 seed and they play against Dallas well...but a great team should not lose to a #8 team...ever. Now I can see the argument if one said well say the #1 team isn't actually as good as their regular season record shows...maybe they are just a team built for the regular season more so than a short 5/7 game series. But if it goes to 7 games I think it is close to if not the biggest choke ever for two reasons. 1. We can kind of assume it is a choke by Dallas despite the fac that they have trouble with GS and GS is playing great ball? Why? Miami 06. If Dallas goes and beats Miami last year then wins 62 games and gets upset by GS...its a fluke. But they have already shown that they can have a weaker team on the ropes and basically dead..and then just competly blow it. 2. They would not only lose to GS a #8 seed that won 40 something games...but they would do so in epic fashion by coming back from a 3-1 defecit only to lose on THEIR HOMECOURT to a team with no postseason expierence(as a team playing together). If Dallas loses in Game 6 on the road then I can say its a big choke coming after a 62 win season following the Finals disaster...but its not epic or the greatest post-season choke ever. But if Dallas stomps GS on the road then goes back home and loses on their own court...its epic. |
