It all comes down to the turn play where you really need a read. Lots of options.

someone please tell me why we never fold AK preflop

[/ QUOTE ]

It's a function of the games today, which have become so aggressive that it's usually wrong to muck AK pf.

However, you should still find spots where it feels right. These spots usually involve playing OOP and an opponent with whom you have enough to hands to put them on a strict enough range preflop to act accordingly.

FD,

I love the way you played the hand in a BvB.

Hes going to fire that turn with close to 100% of his range, and you're ahead just about always.

I like the c/r bc against a lot of people, your c/r actually looks weaker than a call.

I'd be shoving this almost always unless I had some really abnormal stats on the guy. He didn't even have a full buyin!

even if his 3bet range is TT+,AJs+,AQo+ and he calls your push with JJ+,AQs+,AKo it is +$ev (www.rvgsoftware.com)

I dunno doc, doesn't make much sense to me.

I really don't get the c/r calls a shove line.

If I'm willing to stack off with this hand, wouldn't bet calling a shove, or b/3bet shoving make more sense?

The c/r call shove line really reduces his bluff frequency.

[/ QUOTE ]

well the c/r from me doesnt make much sense, and this would be a weird board for me to 2-barrel w/ air so i think hes more likely to put ME on air w/ this line regardless of what he has.

Can I do a MTT hand in here for you guys? It's more about bubble philosphy for me, really. IOW, I feel that the bubble in an MTT is less important than the bubble of a STT, and went for this thin resteal vs a huge LAG opponent. I this sound? ANd how 'bout his call?

What do you think of either player's play?
We are 2 or three from the bubble of this 6-max tourney.
UTG is 50/25 over about ~50 hands. Button has been extremely quiet, never out of line. The table as a whole has been raising quite a bit and pots have been contested. UTG is involved in a bunch.
