OK now that primatech paper company appears to be done sending out text messages for the night.. back to the game...
Here is the issue I came up with... [ QUOTE ] With 48.Kc5 Nxg5 49.Bxg5 Kxg5 50.Kd4 followed by 51.Ke3 White draws easily. [/ QUOTE ] After 50. Kd4 Kg4 I was able to misplay this for white and lose. The problem is that if white gets a pawn fixed on the 3rd rank and if that pawn drops, it does not matter if white has the opposition. Right.. well known basic pawn endings stuff... So in goofing off I was able to do that. The point is that the K at g4 controls f3 even with the white king at e3 cause f3+ just drop the g pawn. If white king gives way we get f3 for our king and it gets messy still.... So if all that is true, or possible some of that is true... 50. Kd4 may be a mistake and 50. f3 might avoid that "stuff" and give white the draw.... |

50.f3 is ok too but 50...f5 51.Kd4 f4 looked scary at first. [/ QUOTE ] So what do we do, play Nf3 and see if he reads the treads or play b5. I guess all and all it's not going to make much difference. Nf3 or b4 Do we need more talk or are we vote ready? |

I guess all and all it's not going to make much difference. Nf3 or b4 Do we need more talk or are we vote ready? [/ QUOTE ] I'm sure this position holds no secrets from curtains whether he reads the thread or not. But since no one wants a draw, why should we make it so easy for him to take our b-pawn? Let's make him go all the way to b7 to get it if he wants. Then it won't be so easy to get back in time. I have an idea. Let's go 44...Nb3. It will force him to think about repeating the position. If he goes 45.Bb6 we can go 45...Nd2 again. He will have to vary if he wants to play on, or we can try the Nf3 idea later if we want to play on. It will put him in the uncomfortable spot of either allowing a draw by repetition (but only if WE want one), or playing his second choice move at some point to avoid the draw. |

[/ QUOTE ] Sure I'm up for Nb3 but if the knight gets trapped cause we fall asleep it's all on you! j/k Its a fine idea to make him go to b7 for the pawn so why not... Let him find a path to make it a game.. |
